Review your holiday settings before Thanksgiving

With the Thanksgiving holiday approaching, we want to help you maintain your seller-fulfilled order performance metrics.

If you plan to take additional time off for Thanksgiving, we recommend that you update your vacation status to avoid missing orders that could affect your performance. This setting temporarily removes your seller-fulfilled listings from product detail pages and search results.

To update your vacation status, go to Store status and vacation settings.

If you plan to send seller-fulfilled orders over the holiday, we recommend that you manage your holiday settings to override a public holiday by selecting the box for Set as Operating Day. Allow up to four hours for any changes to be reflected in your delivery promise and orders received.

To override a public holiday, go to Holidays.

For more information about vacation status and holiday settings, go to Listing status for vacations, holidays, and other absences and Manage holiday settings.

This is good advice. Three pieces of feedback for the Amazon team:

  1. It would be nice to see the holiday schedule for 2025. Especially New Year's. It is already mid-November, so seems like it is overdue to provide a 2025 view.
  2. Easter. The carriers don't work. It isn't a Federal holiday due to some combo of it being overtly religious (more so than Christmas), since it always falls on a Sunday (so most government offices were already closed), and the floating nature of the date due to being based on the lunar calendar. With that said--why on earth is Amazon considering this a normal operating day for shipping?
  3. Please consider YOUR 'settings', specifically including how SFP Speed metric works on holiday weeks. It is insane to hold Sellers to the same high bar of performance from non-holiday weeks as during a holiday week, when the available hours to show 1- and 2-day delivery commitments are drastically cut due to the carriers' holiday schedules. It has been almost 4 years. You've had time to make reasonable adjustments to the program.

Yet every time we go on vacation there is always 1 order that magically appears to be shipped during vacation time just last week zero pending zero unshipped then next day wow 1 order needed to be shipped! If Amazon was smart they would copy ebays vacation where it stays active yet states shipping delay kindly like you copy Walmart on pricing just copy ebay on vacation.

Amazon team, is there a way to add a holiday? The vacation settings that will remove listings during that time does not seem ideal. We definitely want to continue selling our products, we just cannot answer customer questions or ship on the extra holiday needed (12/24).

Is the day after Thanksgiving (11/29) considered a shipping day for merchant-fulfilled (not SFP)?
