I would also point out that when Seller Support is asking for Proof of Ownership during a missing inventory investigation, they aren't asking strictly for receipts. Rather, per Amazon policy, documentation that illustrates a clear supply chain / relationship with an authorized distributor (ie invoices). I've covered this in a few places, most recently in this thread I created: The Amazon Seller's Playbook: 5 Must-Know Guidelines for Sourcing and Selling Products!
Anything less than that (like receipts from 3rd party retailers), in my experience, can cause issues successfully resolving the case.
