I usually send in one box a week of about 300-400 units. Usually consisting of about 4 different SKUs. These are very small and fit in a box that is about 12x12x12. Normally this costs me about $15 but now with this new fee the shipment is about $95
These are items priced around $7 so an additional $0.30 a unit is huge. Splitting this into 5 boxes also seems crazy. This seems like one of those fees that shouldn't be applied to items in the sub $10 low priced FBA rates category.
Is there even a way to have amazon tell me how to split them before everything is packed?
Amazon has made it clear, if you are not sending in thousands of unit weekly you will be moved out of FBA unless you are making huge profit margins.
You are the target of this planned assault along with hundreds of thousands of other small sellers.
This new inbound placement fee is affecting the US sellers, but not the Chinese sellers. See the link below. Amazon gives Chinses sellers an option to send a shipment to one location and pay a zero placement fee. They just pay $226.29 for shipping per pallet.

A full truck load of 26 pallets now costs me about $3,500. Used to cost about $500. So yea, it's 7x for me too. You'd think Amazon would increase this slowly over time. But 7x all at once doesn't seem like a smart move.
Look at merchant fulfilled prime though and use their warehouses. [Moderator Edit: removed external URL] dont use them, I dont work for them. There are probably others.
Some of us are opting to use this method for FBA SPD.

Hi @Seller_O0IHdb7xjNv0X,
Dominic from Amazon here, want to weigh in on the 6x comment. Understand the inbound fee has increased however I do want to note we are lowering some FBA fees in April.
Effective April 15, 2024, we will decrease FBA fulfillment fees for standard-size products by $0.20 per unit and for Large Bulky-size products by $0.61 per unit on average. April 15 is the same date that the first inbound placement services fees will begin to be charged.
Best,
Dominic
