What happens if I follow amazon's guidelines and send in 5 boxes of all same quantity, same asin but amazon loses 1 or more? for example i send in the same FNSKU in all 5 boses of 100 each, but amazon miss counts 1 or so and loses 1 asin, will i then be charged inventory placement fee for the WHOLE SHIPMENT since its not even ?? or just for that quantity of missing ASIN??
Box 1: 100 FNSKU
Box 2: 100 FNSKU
BOX 3: 99 FNSKU
BOX 4: 100 FNSKU
BOX 5: 100 FNKSU
so in this example, will i get charged a placement fee for 499 items? or just 1 item? because we all know amazon very easy loses stuff in the warehouse, even if it's one item, and good luck proving they are missing one item, it's not even worth it, but if i get charged a placement fee then that changes everything. Mods please help
Hello @Seller_wEvxmzpjwJYbA
Christine here from Amazon Forums.
Generally, Amazon charges an Inventory Placement Service fee when they need to split your inventory across multiple fulfillment centers. This fee is not typically related to missing items.
If Amazon miscounts or loses an item during the receiving process, they should not charge you an Inventory Placement fee for that. The issue here is one of inventory discrepancy rather than placement.
In this case, I would recommend you to open a case with our seller support team with the documents as a proof of the quantity sent in order for the right team to initiate the investigation and help you with your situation.
