Welcome back to the Listings Lounge! We are glad to see you again!

We have recently seen some questions on the forums regarding the new dietary supplement requirements announcement.

Currently compliance requests in the US store are related to ‘Dietary Supplements’ listings under the ‘sexual enhancement’, ‘weight management’, ‘sports nutrition and body building dietary supplement’ categories will now be required to submit testing for their listings through an Amazon approved ‘Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC)’ organization. This requirement will be expanded to the whole ‘Dietary Supplements’ category throughout 2024, so you may want to get ahead of the required testing for items not listed above to ensure that your listings do not get suspended while you wait for testing.

This change was announced on April 2, 2024 in the News section of your account as well as in the Forums News page as follows:

Changes to dietary supplements policy

We’ve updated the policy on dietary supplements to meet safety standards in our store. Effective April 2, 2024, dietary supplement products need to be verified through a third-party Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) organization.

To ensure that your listings are compliant with our policy, you must use the Manage Your Compliance dashboard to initiate a test for each product with one of the third-party TIC organizations. Once testing is requested, you’ll work directly with the third-party TIC organization to complete the testing of your products. For testing instructions, go to the Manage Your Compliance dashboard and select Add or appeal compliance.

Once we receive a test result that confirms compliance with our policy, your product will be eligible for sale on Amazon.

For more information, please visit the Dietary supplements help page.

The Manage Your Compliance dashboard shows listings for dietary supplements that require your action along with the due dates under Compliance status. Listings may be subject to removal if they are not confirmed as being compliant with our policy by the specified due date.

While we know that it can be very frustrating when new policies roll out, we need to ensure that we are compliant with all government policies to ensure customer safety. At this time we cannot expedite any cases that are actively being reviewed as cases are worked in a first in/first out basis to ensure that it is fair to all sellers.

If you have questions regarding a specific Dietary ASIN, feel free to begin a new discussion here, "select the Create and Manage Listings category, and use the tag, ‘Listings.’ ". If you have a general question, please post it below and we will help the best we can. However, please know that as we are not the team that makes the final decision, we cannot review your documents, to see if they are able to be approved.

Note: We cannot provide legal advice or otherwise interpret regulatory requirements on situations that are specific to individual sellers.

One thing Amazon has NOT mentioned to its seller is -- sellers will have to PAY, NSF, a fee regardless if said seller already has all their compliance information ready to submit or not. Thats not fair at all and its the same price as what they quote for testing either way. that is not fair

Hi Michelle, does the new TIC requirement apply to all dietary supplements, including sleep supplements? I'm planning to sell supplements and don't have any listings yet, so I need to know which products currently require TIC.
