Textbook restriction ban in effect, email sent 3 days ago. 157 stranded items FBA, mostly textbooks

Back in February Amazon sent out an email saying textbook sales would be restricted. Three days ago, I got the same email. I figured it was just a false alarm, but today I see its been implemented as I suddenly have 157 stranded items through FBA. They are all textbooks and college titles. Right around the end of the school year when sales for these types of items pick up, too. This is the email for anyone interested:

Hello,

We have implemented additional restrictions for textbook products which will impact some of your listings. Effective May 6, 2024, you will no longer be able to list the affected products, and your listings for those ASINs will be deactivated. This action does not impact your account health.

What listings are impacted?

To see impacted select Textbooks ASINs, go to: https://sellercentral.amazon.com/fixyourproducts (login required) or go to help page: https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/G201186860 for more information.

Why is this happening?

To protect our customers and maintain their trust, we place selling restrictions on certain products. We place these restrictions to ensure that the products sold in our store are safe, authentic, or meet local and regional regulations. For certain restrictions, we require sellers to submit an application for review. However, we may not accept applications for every product we place selling restrictions on. To learn more, refer to our ‘Products that require approval’ help page: https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/200333160

How do I reactivate my listings?

You cannot reactivate the impacted listings because you are not approved to list these textbook products. We are not currently accepting applications for these products.

If you have remaining inventory of the affected products in Amazon fulfillment centers, you will need to create a removal order. For help in creating a removal order, see the ‘Remove inventory from a fulfillment center’ help page: https://sellercentral.amazon.com/gp/help/201436560

We’re here to help.

If you have additional questions about this policy, contact us: https://sellercentral.amazon.com/cu/contact-us

Sincerely, Seller Performance Team https://www.amazon.com

So this is for real? Textbook sales are being banned on Amazon marketplace? This seems insane to me.

The last time this happened was 2 months ago. There was a thread about this topic "And there go textbook sales":

https://sellercentral.amazon.com/seller-forums/discussions/t/65697fa1-3268-499a-8ffd-f4902d133048

The way it resolved was Amazon stated the email was sent in error and was meant for Amazon's Brazilian website and marketplace. Many people reported the restrictions were lifted, as were mine.

Fast forward to 3 days ago and I received the email listed on the original post. I am not finding posts by any other users, on these seller forums, on selleraskseller, or anywhere else someone might post information about this (nothing in YouTube, Reddit or Twitter from other users complaining of this).

So my question is, who exactly got this email 3 days ago other than myself?
