Read onlyHello fellow sellers,
Looks like the changes we've been concerned about are finally happening. Five months ago, I raised concerns about the impact of integrating refurbished products with new and used listings. At that time, Amazon promised consultations with sellers to assess the effects on our businesses. Many of us thought the program was put on hold, but now it’s back—and we’ve received no further communication from the department handling these updates.
In my category, I often see sellers offering the cheapest used products, with minimal effort invested in repair or cleaning, consistently winning the Buy Box! This leads to dissatisfied customers, who then leave negative reviews, dragging the ASIN's rating down to 1 or 2 stars. Now, with the upcoming changes, our carefully refurbished listings, which maintain higher ratings due to the quality of work we put in, will be merged with these lower-quality used listings.
What will we get out of this new program? Without a clear algorithm to prioritize true refurbished products—those that involve extensive diagnostics, repairs, and packaging - over competitors who do none of this, we risk losing our selling potential.
I’d like to hear your thoughts. Do you think these changes will hurt your business as much as I fear they will hurt mine?
Best
Hi there @Seller_PFnWvCln7dM24,
Thank you or raising your concerns with the changes to the refurbished program. In general I would recommend you check out the Listing offers for refurbished electronics products help page that addresses some of these concerns.
If you still have concerns I'm happy to take any feedback to the appropriate leadership team but please note I won't be able to provide any updates. Thank you for your understanding.

I agree per my post “Upcoming changes to Amazon Renewed offer listings: Deaht Knell for Renewed Electronics”
Only a couple of comments on both posts, other that moderator disclaimers about Featured Offer algorithms.
Aren’t any other Renewed electronics sellers concerned?
Had just replied this in another thread you had commented on but adding here for added visibility.
We agree with everything you brought up @Seller_PFnWvCln7dM24
There is a lot of work that goes/went into being approved as a Renewed merchant and we put a lot of time and money and payroll into having multiple departments who touch each item that passes through our hands before shipping to a buyer.
We have a quality control team of techs who test each item, a sanitation team who cleans up the equipment and a packing team that adds all necessary components for a plug and play experience for our buyers and a management / picker team who assigns each item to an order and oversees all said employees mentioned before.
It is an expensive operation which the Renewed margins help to cover but we are also bound to the 90 day return window.
The fear is now we are mixed in with margins comparable to Used sellers but we are required to cover a longer return window and are held to higher expectations for less return.
It could mean letting 1/2 of our staff go and pay rate drops in the few that we can hold on to and all this on top of the new ODTR metric leading into the holidays.
That is a lot of change at one time all leading into the holidays.
It does feel like Renewed sellers are being pushed off of Amazon.
@Glenn_Amazon If you can share our concerns with the Renewed team I think all of us Renewed sellers would be most appreciative.
I am all for a better shopping experience for the buyer but we deserve a better selling experience as the seller too as we are Amazon's customers and deserve the same level of customer service that Amazon backs for the shoppers on the platform.
Hi there @Seller_ZuOqYQzTJQvfp,
Just wanted to let you know I took you feedback in this post. In the future if a Seller Forums Community Manager is on a thread, you don't generally have to post the same information in multiple places. I would advise against double posting in the future because it can be disruptive and violate the Seller Forums Guidelines. I'll make sure your feedback and concerns get to the right place. Thank you.
