Update your listings with supported document types by February 26

by News_Amazon

To standardize product listings, and make it easier for customers to find information about your products, certain document types will no longer be supported on the product detail page.

From January 29, 2024, you won’t be able to upload or edit the following unsupported document types on your product detail pages: 2D CAD, 3D CAD, Application Guide, Brochure, Comparison Chart, Compatibility Guide, FAQ, Size Guide, Specification Sheet, and Product Documentation.

Customers will still be able to view unsupported document types that are already on your product detail pages, and you’ll be able to access and transfer content from all of your documents in Seller Central.

On February 26, 2024, any unsupported document types will be removed from your product detail pages and Seller Central.

We recommend that you go to Manage Product Documents before February 26 and either:

  • Move information from unsupported document types to the appropriate section of the product detail page, for example, the product description.
  • Re-upload content from unsupported document types to one of the 14 supported document types. For example, an ‘Application Guide,’ could be transferred to a ‘User Guide’.

For more information, including a full list of supported document types, go to About Product Documents.

Yes, a 3D CAD file will fit perfectly in the text-only description field. As will many arbitrary-length files in a limited-length field. And no size guide will certainly reduce returns.

Thanks for rearranging the deck chairs. That was really my biggest complaint about this platform.

Can some seller or Mod more canny than I explain the purpose of this change?

Why? What is the point of this?

I'm so tired of those "innovations"... let people just keep working...
