Read onlyHello everyone,
I have a big concern about selling restricted products on Amazon. I want to buy inventory, but I see that certain brands are locked for my account.
Last year, I tried to apply for brand approval, but my request was never accepted, and I ended up stuck with the products without being able to sell them. Now, I want to avoid making the same mistake.
My question is: Is there any way to make sure that Amazon will approve my request before I invest in inventory? I don’t want to risk buying products that I won’t be able to sell.
I appreciate any advice or experiences you can share.
I'm planning to sell personal care products from brands like Johnson’s Baby, Nivea, and Dove. In the past, I also tried to get approval for Neutrogena, and even though I submitted a valid invoice from a distributor, my request was still denied.
I want to avoid that situation again, so I’m wondering: Is there a way to ensure that Amazon will approve my request before I invest in inventory? Are there specific distributors that are more likely to be accepted? Or any tips to increase the chances of approval?
Thanks for any advice!
Retail arbitrage is no longer allowed on Amazon and violates sourcing policies.
You need to be a brand approved retailer of any brand you sell here. Such is policy.
STOP-that is no longer allowed. You would have to have invoices (not receipts) and these brands do not allow 3rd party sales on Amazon, especially by doing RA/OA.
I understand that Amazon does not allow retail arbitrage and requires invoices instead of receipts. However, I want to clarify that I was not doing retail arbitrage I was sourcing products through the wholesale model and submitted invoices from a legitimate distributor, not store receipts.
Despite this, my request for brand approval was still denied. If retail arbitrage is not allowed, but invoices from distributors are also getting rejected, what is the correct way to get approval?
Are there specific distributors that Amazon is more likely to accept for brands like Johnson’s Baby, Nivea, and Dove? Or is it that these brands simply do not allow third-party sellers at all?
Hello @Seller_iSk6MeSGTCUzb,
Thanks for reaching out. I understand that you would like to know what brands you can be approved for, however, that is something we cannot guarantee. You may want to review this post that reviews how to improve your odds on getting approved, however, the best way to get approved is to have a direct relationship with the brand and have them add you to their Brand Registry as an Authorized Reseller.
I hope this is helpful!
