Read onlyHello everyone,
I’m looking for advice on how to get approved to sell restricted brands on Amazon. My business model is wholesale, and I purchase inventory from authorized distributors at a wholesale level.
In the past, I applied for brand approval using a legitimate invoice from a wholesale distributor, but my request was denied. I want to avoid that situation again before investing in inventory.
My main concerns are:
1-Are there specific wholesale distributors that Amazon is more likely to accept for brand approval?
2-Is there a way to check if a brand allows third-party sellers before purchasing inventory?
3-Does Amazon have any pre-approval process to verify if an invoice will be accepted before making a purchase?
I want to make sure I’m following Amazon’s rules while avoiding unnecessary risks. Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
Hello @Seller_iSk6MeSGTCUzb,
Thanks for reaching out. You may find this post helpful.
For your questions:
1. We do not have a list of distributors that will increase your odds of approval.
2. You should work directly with the brand to get a Letter of Authorization (LOA) to sell their products. If the brand is going to give you a LOA, ask them to add you to their Brand Registry as an Authorized Reseller of their products.
3. Amazon does not have a pre-approval process, however, this help page goes over invoice requirements.
Ensure that you are buying from authorized distributors and not retail stores as receipts are not accepted.
I would also encourage you to learn more in our Seller University, which will provide you with more information around selling on Amazon. You may also find the posts we created last year to help educate sellers helpful as well. You can find the ones we created last year here or search Listings Lounge in the forums to find content we created this year.
As it appears that you are new, you may also find the New Seller Community helpful. It's a safe space where you can discuss your questions with other new sellers such as yourself.
I hope this is helpful!
