This has happened on 2 orders in the past 2 weeks. I ship on time, buying postage through Amazon. After 2 days in transit, USPS scans "possible delivery delay" and then delivers the package a day late. OBVIOUSLY the delay was caused by USPS, they even state it! How can I control this??
I went into live chat thinking it would quickly by fixed but they say that it requires an internal specialist and they'll have to get back to me. what? This seems like a pretty simple thing once you see the USPS scan for yourself.
CHECK ALL YOUR LATE PACKAGES!!! I don't know if it's the hurricane damage or what, but you probably have late packages that the carrier admits is their fault, but Amazon is punishing YOU for it!
This is ridiculous.
Yes, that problem happens evey now and then. The key in making it have no significant effect on your account is the number of sales you have a week. Example" 10 sales big effect, 500 sales, no effect.
I had a package due on October 16th and it was delivered on October 16th and still they marked it late. I have contact Customer service twice. I eventually get an email from Amazon that says they cannot help me because I did not buy the postage from Amazon. But, I am trying to tell them it was delivered on time.
I received my "response" from seller support which was just some BS AI chatbot response that had nothing to do with my issue.
HEY MODS, can you please help??? how many times to do I have to get BS responses from seller support that don't even address my problem?????
Hello @Seller_P85u3WAAnD3kQ,
Thank you for posting here on the forums.
"Package shipped on time but delivered late has a USPS scan that says "possible delivery delay," yet it counts against my OTDR?"
I see that you have concerns with recent negative impact to your On Time Delivery Rate (OTDR) metric and you would like some clarity and support with this.
So that I am able to assist you the best can you please provide me with an associated case ID? This way I can work with the appropriate teams to understand the details.
In the meantime, I suggest to review the following help page to ensure that you have all of the features enabled to avoid OTDR impact...
--Frequently asked questions about on-time delivery rate (OTDR)
I am looking forward to your response. The forums community and I are here to support you.
Wishing you the best,

Same issue! Order was placed on August 27th, package shipped & scanned on August 28th - USPS delivered on October 28th!!! Bought shipping through Amazon. Lost claim. So what is it with the Claims & OTDR protection?? Why was it not applied?
If all your orders are shipped out on time, they should not be allowed to have it count against you! I haven't had a late order shipped in 6 months. Yet here I am with nearly 10% of my orders listed as delivered late. Just one more thing to penalize good sellers with deactivation. "Even though you did everything right and shipped on time on your end, if USPS delivers stuff late, we could still suspend you."
Ridiculous.
Did you use Amazon Buy Shipping this will protect your account from late and non delivery. My issue is with UPS "delay in transit".
A couple months ago I had an overnight shipment get delayed a day by UPS. I shipped during the day and that night the recieving area had a bad storm/tornado hit it. Amazon hit my order defect rate for expidited shipping and lost the privilage for 30 days since I don't ship many expidited items. I called up amazon and explained the situation. They understood the situation and I was told I had to write a action plan on how I would avoid that late shipment for future shipments..... I just waited th 30 days and I guess amazon just punished their customers by not allowing me to ship expidited, because I do not know how to write an action plan for a tornado I can't forsee in a hub I do not know my package is going to go through....
DO NO PURCHASE SHIPPING LABELS THROUGH AMAZON!
As confirmed by the mod in this thread, you DO NOT have late shipping protection, even though they fool you by showing that badge when you purchase your label. In order to get that protection you also have to turn on "shipping settings automation" and "automated handling time" which means that you lose control over how fast you have to ship a package because Amazon's AI takes over and makes everything a nightmare. THAT is the only way your "buy shipping" Amazon-purchased label is protected.
So when you purchase your label through Amazon, you will NOT be protected even when USPS shows "delivery delay" in the tracking.
Why give them extra money when they don't even offer you any protection for things that are out of your control?
Buy your shipping labels somewhere else! I use PirateShip but there are a ton of options out there.
