First Listing

Hi so i’m trying to do my first listing which is a listing that has not been listed before and requires me to get seller approval via amazon and I did it be application twice which keeps failing. I’m doing FBA through a third-party and the reason it keeps getting denied is because of a product ID number. typically where is the product ID located on items that are like target website or walmart?

"I’m doing FBA through a third-party..."

WHY can't you do your own work?

Your Amazon account is a train wreck waiting to happen.

Putting these two statements together raises an alarm flag.

If you are using FBA then at least you cannot be drop shipping from Target or Walmart (kiss of death for a selling account) -- but neither may you source from Target, Walmart, or any other retail site.

Have you gone through Seller University, paying special attention to sourcing?

Good Evening @Seller_eKqwKNWQY6bIO,

Welcome to Selling on Amazon! We are glad to have you here. I wanted to chime in on some best practices when it comes for information requested for your selling applications.

Here is the link for Amazon's Responsible Sourcing documentation request requirements. Listed below are the requirements for sourcing documentation request:

Copies of invoices, receipts or other similar documents that demonstrate where your products are produced or manufactured

These documents:

  • Should reflect the sales volume of your product across all Amazon marketplaces in the last 365 days
  • Should demonstrate your product’s full supply chain
  • Should include contact information for the supplier(s) and the original manufacturer. We may contact suppliers or manufacturers to verify the documents

Your documents should be able to trace your products to the original manufacturer even if you did not purchase them directly from the original manufacturer. This may require requesting additional invoices or supply chain documentation from your supplier if you are not sourcing directly from the manufacturer.

You may remove pricing information, but the rest of the document must be visible to enable adequate review of the documents you provide. For ease of our review, you may highlight or circle the ASIN(s) under review.

A letter of authorization can also be a valuable addition to your applications in these situations if you’re sourcing directly from the brand or their manufacturer.

As @Seller_Hi7wbO2Kbo6bl suggested above, Seller University would also be a great place for you to get started on your selling journey that way you can avoid unnecessary fees, confusion about how to add a product and be aware of penalties that may occur on your Selling Account if policies are broken.

If you are not a part of the New Seller Community, I would highly suggest joining and reviewing the content in that group as well.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions regarding the information provided above. May the sales be with you and have a great rest of your week.

Sincerely, Cooper_Amazon
