....Velocity review on Memorial Day Weekend!?

by Seller_wCglRGzmL6Y0J

Just a pure money$$ grab.
The morning of our regular transfer, the weekend of our normally (like, every year) busiest week of the year, we are hit with a Velocity Review,

Just taking (well, holding…) the money, not stopping us from selling.

Here’s the kind note we received (like a bank robber to the teller…)

Hello,

We are reviewing your Amazon com seller account. A reserve equal to your gross sales amount for the preceding 14 days will apply while your account is under review. Based on your order volume, the amount of the reserve may change daily.

When your account balance exceeds this reserve amount, you will be able to transfer funds based on your settlement schedule. You can view details on the Payments page in the Reports section of Seller Central (https // sellercentral .amazon.com/gp/payments-account/settlement-summary html).

Please continue to ship orders and only list items that you can send by the expected ship date.

You can help by sending us more information about your business**. Click the Appeal button next to this message on the Performance Notifications page in Seller Central**

we agree we have increased sales volume, but the percentage increase from Jan-Feb to now is the same it has been every year…

Oh… and despite the fact that they say to hit the ol’ APPEAL BUTTON, there is no such button.

As we said, sales proceeding as normal, but our money is gone from the payments page report, (as in all marked as unavailable balance…)

wow.
just wow.

You are the odd duck, most everyone else is slow. They might have been doing you a favor by waiting till low sales time that is based upon sales from many others.

You do realize that this is all bot driven by data, right? There actually isn’t someone behind your account hitting the red stop button on the disbursement with a maniacal laugh. While I do agree with you that it can be frustrating, your business is pushing its upper credit limits on Amazon. That is great. You are growing. Start a case by contacting Amazon and ask them if there is anything that you can provide to speed up the process. I have done so in the past and have seen as little as 6-12 hour turnarounds. Additionally, after you have been cleared you can request a courtesy disbursement which I have done many times in the past. Growing pains… Happy selling.

Lucky you. We normally do 15-30 orders/day and in the batch for today I have 1-order. Very sad day for us

Hello,

We have reviewed your account and decided we will continue to apply a reserve to your account. The reserve will apply while we evaluate your performance metrics and may be modified or removed as your performance improves.

We will send you an email when we have completed our review. To learn more about account reviews, search for “Velocity Limits and Account Reviews” in Seller Central Help.

Imagine by doing 10s of thousands of sellers this way and holding millions and millions of dollars how much interest that can be?

They’re holding our funds hostage, too. It’s less than $500, but that’s money that we need to pay rent on our store.
