We use a third party fulfillment (deliverr) for FBM orders.
2 orders that were shipped a day late by the fulfillment center. Both orders were delivered before the due date timeframes.
Can the late shipment rates by appealed based on delivery before the due dates? I ask because I believe I read in the forum, some time ago last year, this can be successfully appealed but can not locate that information.
Thanks
Hello @Makingithappen,
Cecilia with Amazon here.
I understand that you are concerned about your late shipment rate being affected by orders that were shipped late by your third party fulfillment center. An order is marked as shipped late any time that the order is shipped and confirmed after the ship by date. Orders that are confirmed late will be marked as shipped late, including if they are delivered on time. We require that sellers maintain a late shipment rate under 4%.
There is a separate metric for on-time delivery: on time delivery rate (OTDR). The target for OTDR is 97%; but currently there is not a penalty for missing this goal. These metrics can be found in your account health dashboard under shipping performance.
This is great advice from @vespa. Your handling time will determine your ship by date. The default handling time is 1-2 days, but can be adjusted within your account. I’m glad that you were able to implement this into your business and prevent future late shipment issues.
Best,
CC
Right here you agree that there is an issue. Doesn’t matter that you use a 3rd party/drop shipper. Your account, your metrics.
You weren’t hit with a late delivery metric, you were hit with late shipping. So no, it can’t be.
The only appealing you can do is when you are suspended for shipping late.

If you change your handling time, it will give your third-party fulfillment center a little more wiggle room… And you should not have this problem in the future…
