I currently have over 700 SKU's active. They have been repriced over 21,000 times in the past 24 hours. Can you imagine the odds of ending each day at almost EXACTLY the same sales revenue (see picture attached for my December month-to-date). We are talking INFINITE combinations of SKU x $price to arrive at less than 1% variation of sales revenue from day-to-day... Ask ChatGPT - this is an IMPOSSIBLE outcome unless Amazon is controlling sales flow.
To be clear, the 1 "outlier" day was Cyber Monday - which again came to an EXACT round number!

Oh, I'm 100% sure in my mind that they throttle sales. They also manipulate the algorithm for visibility. In the past year or so, sales have acted too erratically than they had in the past. It's a drastic difference where it seems very noticeable to me that this is what they do. It's shaaaady!
It has been a well-known fact for a long time. At a certain time, Amazon gives you a fixed number of listings visible or searchable to buyers, resulting in almost the same amount of sales every day.
Therefore, you may also find increasing # of listings does not increase sales. A quota has been set.
I have for a long time speculated the throttling of sales. They have also fiddled around with something on the back end with organic sales and exposure. I used to get plenty but they have diminished and I had great ranking on some products. This platform is becoming worse each year, with too many algorithm changes, no communication on what's what, and thus no ability to adjust. After launching a few new products this year I've also noticed that the honeymoon phase for new listings seems to be a thing of the past...
post.i don't know what to say but I'm in with all my life savings and now into over $50,000 in credit card debt, and lost over $40,000 in products.
I pay ppc from my bank account and last month I sold over $8,800 after return and I got $2,100 from Amazon, then since then I almost sold$2000. And Amazon have me -$170. They take everything along with $4,500 for ppc for the month, I'm trapped and stressed out like never before. I have so much to say that I'll save some for another time.
congratulations on your achievements I have only a short time selling on Amazon and it is difficult for me to sell without advertising, I only have 1 SKU and I would like to grow but the reality is that I do not generate profit. What suggestion can you give me?
it's not a secret. I often have a sku not having sales for days then all the sudden 3-5 orders come in 30 mins just to balance the sales for the whole day
They also price fixation manipulation all the while telling customers you are basically scumbag sellers stopping all sales with sales history deletion setting limits to outdated MSRP or random 4th party site that their bots scavenge some pricing data this is exactly why we stopped FBA and are pushing sales back to the mother site ebay! You can not have a product that sells 50 units a day then up the price a few pennies where buy box is removed and go to zero sales a day this whole site is corrupt as host competes with sellers as if we are the enemy! Many times we have hot new product and sell the hell out of it for a few days and almost always by the pay period sales end up the same just all other items stop selling 100% MANIPULATED!
.
I am 100% sure they throttle. We make roughly the same sales, despite all other factors. It is not coincidence.
100% UNFAIR BUSINESS PRACTICES BY AMAZON! FTC ARE YOU LISTENING?
But they are the first to tell you to spend your money on advertising to bring up your sales, yet when we do, our sales do not go up and we just add extra costs. You pay to advertise, they then ad a padding to your deliveries so when a customer clicks on your ad, you pay and then the customer sees that delivery time and passes on the item. Meanwhile you have a OTDR that is perfect or near perfect.
When they are not doing this, you're paying for ads, a customer clicks on the ad, but there are no featured offers. Customers get confused and move on. Meanwhile you are the only seller of this item, is your brand, A+ content page and is a personalized item, no other seller can list on it and your metrics are perfect. Again, a waste of money.
No matter how you look at it or how they try to explain it, they throttle you in some way or another and yes, the do throttle you in other ways too.
We were right at 1 million in sales, yearly, going up every year, the past two years we have dropped each year and will be lucky to break 300k. This is still decent to most, but it should not be the case.
Sadly we have kept our eggs in one basket due to being a small company and with 1 million in sales, we were maxed on what we could do. Now we are moving on to other platforms to help makeup for the loss. We should have done this sooner.
