So, from around early to mid April last month, a LOT of our Priority Mail packages just completely stopped updating in the USPS system. I am assuming this is because of Covid-19, and they are having major internal issues with internal logistics chain failing.
Of course, we have been bombarded with angry customers who show their tracking hasn’t updated in 15+ days now, and also had to send out free replacements/refunds. Also, we were attempting to file insurance claims on some of these packages that have just seemed to disappear, but USPS cleverly broke their website, so Insurance Claims cannot be submit anymore.
What happen is, you are still allowed to file a claim, and you spend all your time entering all the precise information for the claim and uploading documents, but after the final “Submit Form” step, they had their developers just break the site and it will give some generic error and not allow the claim to be submitted.
"# Request Entity Too Large
The requested resource does not allow request data with POST requests, or the amount of data provided in the request exceeds the capacity limit."
So in other words, USPS is doing some very shady practices to prevent the ability to file an insurance claim due to a ton of packages they lost/misplaced/delayed recently.
You should never send out replacements. Amazon does not normally recogize replacements sent FBM.
Did you use Amazon’s Buy Shipping? If so you should be covered for INR (Item Not Received).
As far as the USPS claim website, it may be like some State’s website and just unable to handle the load of people trying to use it.
So,
USPS NO LONGER ACCEPTING INSURANCE CLAIMS turns out to be:
The USPS web site has a bug?
@BuddyMc and @Puppers - sorry for the confusion - we always use the buy shipping through Amazon for Amazon orders.
@JwsMarket - Thank you!
