Do Listings Sync Completely Between Amazon US and Canada?

I recently created some listings on Amazon Canada and the US marketplaces. I’ve noticed that while the listings do get populated in both countries when enabled (and the title, bullets, and most details remain the same), some fields like Keywords and Country of Origin are not transferred automatically. I had to manually add them again.

I’m wondering:

1. Does this impact SEO or listing quality? Since backend keywords are missing initially, does it affect ranking in the new marketplace?

2. Are there any other fields that don’t get copied automatically between marketplaces? So far, I’ve found keywords and country of origin missing, but is there anything else we need to update separately?

3. Any best practices for syncing listings properly?

Has anyone else experienced this issue? How do you handle it efficiently without missing important details?

Hi @Seller_0sWItrov7uKqA,

Thanks for your detailed questions about listing synchronization between US and Canada! Let me share what I found in the help documentation.

Regarding your question about SEO and missing backend keywords - yes, this can affect your listing visibility. Under the "Search terms" section at Listing Creation for Global Accounts, Amazon notes that keywords affect how often your items appear in searches.

For your question about which fields don't sync automatically, the Build International Listings page explains that while BIL handles basic offer creation and price syncing, it has some limitations. It doesn't guarantee complete page creation or check compliance requirements, which is why you're seeing some fields that need manual updates.

As for best practices, you have a couple of options according to the "Share your available inventory" section at Share your available inventory.

Since you mentioned you're using Brand Registry, here's a helpful tip: The North America Unified Account FAQ mentions that with a unified account, your brand approval automatically carries over across NA marketplaces. They recommend providing "the same key attribute values for specific ASINs in all stores" to keep everything properly synchronized.

Hope this helps.
