Learn more about Amazon Error 8572

Have you ever encountered Amazon Error code 8572 when trying to publish an Amazon listing? It may look like this:

8572: You are using UPCs, EANs, ISBNs, ASINs, or JAN codes that do not match the products you are trying to list. If you believe you have reached this message in error, contact Seller Support with the following information:

  • Product Name
  • Manufacturer name
  • Brand name
  • UPC or EAN or ISBN or JAN along with GS1 certificate
  • Non-brand owners: A copy of a letter/email from the manufacturer or brand stating that the UPC or EAN or ISBN or JAN you are using to list this product is valid.
  • Brand owner: Valid and current (not expired) GS1 certificate for the GTIN range(s) used by your listings.

When the product you’ve listed does not match the UPC, the system displays Error code 8572. It’s important to note that Amazon uses the GS1 database to verify all UPCs. If you’re using a different UPC database, Amazon may not accept the UPC as valid.

If this is a product you’ve branded and purchased a GS1 UPC for, simply provide Amazon Support with the documentation requested in the first part of the notice error message, beginning with the product name.

If you’re reselling a branded product, provide the documentation Amazon Support requested under the non-brand owners portion of your notice.
