An ASIN using my UPC has been created by a Seller incorrectly using their Seller Name as the Brand Name (which is against Amazon's policies). The listing is clearly for my product, but the Brand Name and Manufacturer Name show this Seller's name. The UPC is GS1 Registered to my company and the UPC details in GS1 show the Brand Name as my brand. The Main Image on the listing also clearly shows my brand's name on the product and NOT the Seller name that has been entered as the value for Brand Name. The brand name being used is not a registered brand and I am unable to even add the ASIN to my catalog as is.
When trying to add by upload, using this incorrect brand name, I get Error 5665 - "Request Approval for [RETRACTED] The brand name you have entered has not been approved by Amazon. To request approval for [RETRACTED] for review, copy and paste the following URL in a separate window and complete the form: https://sellercentral.amazon.com/hz/approvalrequest?restrictionScope=CONTRIBUTION&brandName=Barproducts.com, Inc.&operationFilter=use_brand_value"
I have been advised that my request to correct the brand name is a "rebranding" - which it is not. I have been advised to Report Abuse (following steps given by support) - which was denied. I have been advised to create a new ASIN, which I cannot do because the UPC is already tied to the existing ASIN. I currently have another open complaint to report abuse.

"Unable to create offer (Brand Owner) due to incorrect brand associated with my UPC"
It's entirely possible that someone created an ASIN at some time in the past with the same number.
In the past Amazon did NOT verify ownership and require GS1 numbers. There are probably tens of thousands of listings on the site that Amazon has not 'cleansed' yet.
While the Amazon 'search' function is useless, have you done a search for the UPC number?
You may need to do it two ways --
put it in the normal product search as if you are trying to buy something. If nothing shows up, do a search by looking for the number in the 'add a product' in your inventory listings. That may (or my not) give you the competing ASIN that is causing problems.
If you find it you can go to BR and provide your proof that the other item is NOT using a proper UPC number.
Why you don't do a test buy? Then complain saying that the brand received is NOT the brand in title and description.
Can I please get a mod's help?

Good Morning @Seller_BbmCARhKb1zbN,
Apologies for the delayed response. I have gone ahead and escalated the unexpected brand name change on the ASIN shared in the cases above. They should get back to us within the next few business days. I will let you know as soon as I hear back from them. Until then, have a lovely rest of your week.
Sincerely, Cooper_Amazon
Good Afternoon @Seller_BbmCARhKb1zbN,
Still no updates from the partner team yet. Hoping we get an update from them by end of day Monday. We appreciate your continued patience. Have a good weekend.
Sincerely, Cooper_Amazon
