Almost certainly a phishing scam to steal your credentials.
As the seasoned forum vets and moderators both regularly recommend, if you see no Notification Flag in Seller Central, someone’s probably trying to phish you.
You can google the phone number they left and see if it is a real Amazon phone number. If it is, then someone tried to hack your account and you should change all your passwords. If it’s not a real number, then someone is trying to scam you and you should change all your passwords. I highly doubt that this is a real Amazon call though.
EDIT: @Dreamz_Unlimited is correct, don’t call back the number they gave you. If you want to check with Amazon just to be safe, call Amazon directly. Don’t use the number they gave you.
I just got the same phone call. Also in the past week have had to text messages trying to get me to login through a fake Amazon link.
If you are using Two-Step Verification it’s very unlikely you have been hacked.
Please don’t call back. Instead call seller support to report and clarify. We have different kind of attempt from Phishers but certainly report those numbers and email ids to Amazon from our end to be safe.
Thanks everyone. I searched on google for the phone number and several posting described the scam.
I’m sure the same guy works for Microsoft and can fix all the bugs on your computer
I receive 5-7 calls or texts a day… all of them SCAMMERS. Insane amount! Only respond to your notification page when you log in.
