Read onlyI was exploring how to close just one of the marketplaces (specifically Canada) and selected the option: "Request account closure in one of the stores in a unified account." After clicking "Next," I received the following message:
We’ve received your request to close your account in one of the marketplaces. Unfortunately, account closure will close the account in all the marketplaces. If you do not wish to continue selling on one of the marketplaces, you can choose to put the account in vacation status. For more information, please refer to the Help Page: https://sellercentral.amazon.com/gp/help/200135620
I immediately contacted Seller Support, and they told me via chat that the request didn’t actually go through—because they cannot close just one marketplace in a unified account.
Can someone please confirm this? We definitely do not want to close all accounts—just wanted to close the Canada marketplace, if that's possible.
Just do that. Gear icon > Account Info > Vacation Settings
"Can someone please confirm this?"
Pay attention to what @Seller_LVZcgxAgZ2xBvhas said. For the reasons why, look at this information where a LARGE seller merely ASKED HOW to close an account and Amazon actually closed their account.
It took over a year and thousands upon thousands of dollars for attorneys to get one reopened.
BRAZIL BLEEP
Whatever you do DO NOT ask Amazon to close any accounts.
There have now been MULTIPLE sellers that have had their accounts CLOSED by Amazon when they only wanted to stop Brazil (as a real world example) from showing up.
For a true story of incompetence on a grand scale read all about one that AMAZON was unable/unwilling to fix for nearly a year!

Please clarify. Thanks
US, CA, MX and Brazil are all a part of the unified account. You can not close just one. Like they said, any you wish not o list in, make sure there is no inventory and put those stores on vacation mode.
Dear @Seller_FOLOjn9bgrG3u,

Thank you for reaching out to the Seller Forums to obtain confirmation about unified seller account.
Yes, this is correct. With a unified seller account, it's not possible to close just one marketplace while keeping others active. The account closure process will affect all marketplaces associated with your unified account.
The information provided to you through both our resources and experienced sellers (@Seller_LVZcgxAgZ2xBv, @Seller_kIukTwdhvntAp and @Seller_OvL8C4BJWiuS9) accurately reflects our policy. The Seller Support representative correctly confirmed that the closure request did not process, as it is not possible to close individual marketplaces within a unified account.
Instead of closing the Canadian marketplace, please kindly put your Canadian marketplace on "vacation mode”. This allows you to temporarily stop selling in Canada while maintaining your main account active. You can reactivate it later if desired.
Closing your entire unified account will close all marketplace accounts simultaneously. This is permanent and cannot be undone.
This is because unified accounts are designed to share critical business information across all marketplaces and since these information are interconnected, our system cannot separate or close individual marketplaces while maintaining the integrity of the unified account structure.

I hope this clarifies your question. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you need any further assistance. Our community and I are here for you.
