RE: [CASE 17431209201] Unable to Complete Tax ID Verification for My Amazon Seller Account

Hello,

I understand that my account is currently at risk of deactivation due to the tax verification issue outlined in CASE 17431209201. However, I have taken steps to resolve this matter independently.

I recently updated my business address to a U.S. location and am currently awaiting the verification code, which is being mailed to my new address. Once this address is verified, can you confirm that this will resolve the issue and eliminate the need for a tax document from Vietnam?

Based on the email I received, my account is scheduled for deactivation within 10 days if I do not upload the required tax document. However, if my U.S. business address is verified before this deadline, will this automatically satisfy the tax verification requirement? I want to ensure that no further action is needed from my end to prevent account deactivation.

I appreciate your clarification on this matter and any guidance you can provide.

"I appreciate your clarification on this matter and any guidance you can provide."

First, this is a FORUM and not Amazon so only other sellers are normally here to see questions and cries for help. The occasional MOD does stop by to monitor things and maybe one will see this.

Hey guys – any help for the OP? Case number above!

Hello @Seller_ldhHhuImWM4t8,

Thank you for contacting us here on the forums. We understand your concerns regarding the tax verification requirements and potential account deactivation. Let me address each of your questions directly:

You asked: "Once this address is verified, can you confirm that this will resolve the issue and eliminate the need for a tax document from Vietnam?"

After consulting with the responsible team (CASE 17431209201), we can confirm that both your tax documentation and new U.S. business address verification are currently under review processes. While updating your business address to a U.S. location is a positive step, it's important to note that this alone may not automatically resolve the tax documentation requirement.

You also asked: "If my U.S. business address is verified before this deadline, will this automatically satisfy the tax verification requirement?"

The address verification and tax documentation are two distinct requirements that need to be separately fulfilled. While you're awaiting your verification code at your new U.S. address, our team is still reviewing both processes independently.

Next Steps: Once your address is verified, please reply to this thread if you still experience tax-related issues

For additional information about these requirements, please review our help page regarding the INFORM Consumers Act.

We appreciate your proactive approach to resolving this situation. Our seller community and I are here to provide further clarification if needed.

Best regards,

-Roxy

UPDATE. I was able to resolve this issue on my own without support from Amazon.

First, I got a virtual mailbox in the United States to serve as my physical business address since I cannot use my home address as my business address.

As soon as I updated my physical address, Amazon sent me a verification code in the mail, which was scanned in at my virtual mailbox 4 days later.

I updated my physical address, then that reinitiated the tax verification process again for the new address. I was able to then enter my US tax information, which was immediately verified and that solved all issues regarding the INFORM Consumers Act verification process.

I hope this helps someone, as I had to solve this entirely on my own and zero Amazon support agents were able to guide me through this process or suggest it as a solution.
