Resolving Suspected Intellectual Property Violations
We received 47 "suspected intellectual property violations" yesterday for 47 different products all with the reason "Trademark Logo Misuse" and the name of one of the brands we import directly from the factory. We have a letter of authorization and we responded to the violations attaching the letter.
We received a near immediate response telling us that the brand on the listing was yet another brand -- an incorrect brand partially using the correct brand with a hyphen and a second brand name added to the correct brand. The case response letter indicates steps to take to correct the listing, however when attempting to change the brand to the correct name we receive a message that the brand cannot be updated. We have encountered this before and were stuck in an endless battle about the listing with Seller Support until we finally just deleted the listings and stopped selling the product on Amazon.
We would rather get this corrected -
A sample case number is 15905538131
I am hoping that someone can pick this up and accelerate a resolution at Amazon Seller.
Thanks!

Just to be clear ... you have authorization from BrandA but you got an IP violation for a similarly named brand that looks like "BrandA-BrandB"?
And is BrandA in the Amazon Brand Registry with a trademark in the USPTO?

Greetings Models11,
Thank you for sharing the details of the issue you are facing with suspected intellectual property violations. Based on the information provided, it seems that the main challenge you are encountering is with the brand name on your listings not matching the correct brand name.
Regarding the letter of authorization, it's important to ensure that the brand name mentioned in the LOA matches the brand name you are using on your listings. If there is a discrepancy, even a minor one like the inclusion of a hyphen or an additional brand name, Amazon's systems may flag this as a trademark violation.
It's important that if you are using pre-existing listings, the listing information, including the brand name, exactly matches what is covered in your letter of authorization from the brand owner. Any discrepancies, even minor ones, could lead to intellectual property disputes. Carefully review your listings to ensure alignment with the authorized brand details, especially when using pre-existing listings. This will help avoid issues with Amazon going forward.
As you mentioned that when you attempt to change the brand to the correct name you receive a message that the brand cannot be updated, what you could do is to reach out to the brand owner directly and request an updated LOA with the correct brand name. Once you have the corrected LOA, you can try to update the brand name on the listings again.
Please visit the page Intellectual Property Policy for Sellers for more information.
Please make sure that the brand name on your listings exactly matches the information provided in your LOA. This will help you avoid these types of intellectual property disputes and maintain a healthy selling relationship with Amazon.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or if there is anything else I can assist you with.
Best,
-Nikki
