Selling Antiques/Collectibles on Amazon

We have an antique store and would like to list items on Amazon. Since each item is unique, vintage or much older, there are no UPC codes. Is there a way to list these for sale on Amazon? They are all one-of-a-kind items that we only have one of. How do we do this? Do we have to buy a UPC code for each item somewhere?

Amazon is a very poor platform for such items.

Well you need to have a professional account then you need to get into the Gated collectible category… That could take some time…

And you need to carefully pack ship price & calculate shipping & have a bunch of different shipping templates so that you don’t take a bath on shipping…

Then be prepared to go ahead and take your items back, doesn’t matter what they did to them best you might be able to recoup if it’s totally unsalable would be 50% the price…

So you need to build those those losses into your fee structure pricing…

There are lots of more suitable venues out there that don’t have the customer Centric customer’s always right, it doesn’t really matter if the seller makes any money…

There are a couple of people that sell in-- collectible that post on these forums oh, maybe they could weigh in or you can visit Seller Central and find out all about it yourself…

Or you could simply open an eBay account, OfferUp, Craigslist, ecrater, EJ, Bonanza, Mercado, Etsy, Etc there are even antique auction sites you could list things with… and many of these particular sites although they don’t get the traffic that Amazon does, will have much lower fees…

You could also sell your widgets on social media, Pinterest…
