Being charged for an inactive account

Our Amazon seller account is inactive, but we were charged again for it. I have tried to log in to resolve this, but it wants me to activate my account to do anything, including getting support. I don't want my account to be active, and I don't want to keep paying for it, but I can't even use the Close Account feature. Please help. I do not want to pay for or use this service any longer.

To solve the problem, you need to activate it, address the violation or reason for deactivation and then maybe you can close it.

A deactivated account can not be closed. Try to fix it, remove all stranded inventory and close it properly.

Hello @Seller_e0cvrOXPdxVzq

Thanks for reaching out the Amazon Forums.

As @Seller_OvL8C4BJWiuS9 and @Seller_rI7BZIczK8iAC mentioned, to close your account, you first need to activate it. After it is active, these are the steps to take before closing your seller account:

  1. Fulfill any outstanding orders.
  2. Wait 90 days after your last sale to ensure the A-to-z Guarantee claims period is honored.
  3. Wait until you have a zero balance in your account (your next disbursement or charge date).
  4. Resolve all of your transactions with buyers, including issuing any necessary refunds.
  5. Confirm that your bank account information on file is up-to-date to receive a final payment.
  6. Check your Performance notifications to make sure that all the reasons for your account's suspension have been resolved and your account is restored.

Meanwhile, you activate your account. You can try to eliminate all your listings and try to change your account from a professional plan to an individual to avoid the monthly fee.

Feel free to contact our seller support team for additional assistance.

Nano
