Variations to Comply with Brand Name Change

Currently have some listing with a slight brand name variation and curious if it could be corrected. We're trying to create one big family variation and need all the items to be under the same brand name to move forward.

For Instance if it was "AmazonSales and "Amazon Sales, Online"

Is that something that can be changed across several listing as a whole on Amazons end or does it need to be a process 1 by 1?

My concern was the UPC's that are attached to the ASIN's. We have codes through GS1 and when we deleted the old listing with wrong brand name it doesn't allow us to make a new listing since it does essentially already exist until/if Amazon removes it. It appears gone across sources until the new listing would essentially be created after we press "Next" to move onto the details and offer page.

"We found possible matching product(s)" is the message displayed that creates the blockage to proceed.

No cases open yet as I'm waiting to hear from the boss to proceed any further. Key question is, Can the brand name be changed across several listings with the example provided at the top?

We own the brand and the brand name shown on both link to our storefront still. So confused why we can't fix the brand name.

Hi there @Seller_NI0dEZUBdT9dt,

In general Brand Names can't be changed that much. For example as indicated on the Product detail page rules:

If you choose to re-brand a product, refer to Amazon Brand Name Policy page for minor Brand name changes. Any major Brand Name change requests are considered re-branding and will not be supported. To protect Customer trust and ensure catalog quality, we ask that you create a new ASIN for the new product.

The only changes allowed are minor corrections such as fixing typos, capitalization, and issues with legal abbreviations. This change may be too large to be allowed per the policy. But generally this can only be one at a time by reaching out to Selling Partner Support.

If you can demonstrate that the UPC is tied to a different brand you may be able to have the UPC moved to a new ASIN with the correct Brand. However I can't make any grantees. Thank you for your understanding.

-Glenn
