How to properly sell branded products on Amazon?

by Seller_xYxP0X5gtODCh

Hello,
In regards to selling branded products how do we properly list and sell these items? We have been having issues selling branded products as we have been receiving different suspected IP complaints from Amazon’s bots for different trademark violations. We have contacted Amazon regarding this and they are telling us we need letter of authorization or licensing agreement for every single branded product before we even list the item but we are not sure if this accurate. Please let me know what your process is for listing branded item is and what you are personally doing to avoid IP complaints. Thank you.

my 2 cents…if the listing has a number of sellers (say > 6) on it your odds of getting a complaint go way down.

However this now creates an issue with a lot of competition so you will also need good sources and low costs.

It is correct that you need a brand’s authorization to sell in on a marketplace as a 3rd party seller. Brands are starting to realize people are selling without their explicit authorization to do so, so they are taking measures to fix that.

You need to obtain a Letter of Authorization — from each Brand — that states that you may sell their products on Amazon.
You will also need valid Manufacturer or Verified Supplier’s invoice.

This is a non-problem for sellers who are sourcing their product from the wholesale sales arm of the manufacturer or the manufacturer’s authorized wholesale distributors.

Non-problem means that you may see a delay in listing or sales but you will be able to offer your items for sale.

This is a problem for some non-US sellers, practitioners of Retail Arbitrage or Online Arbitrage, some sellers who use dropshippers, buyers from liquidation channels or scam suppliers specializing in ripping off Amazon sellers who do not know how to source legitimate product.

There is no magic formula other than properly vetting your sources, getting and saving appropriate invoices and documentation, and being able to provide the documentation to Amazon.
