My experience with this is that it's supremely obtuse.
To set the scene: None of my items require compliance documentation but they get flagged via bot regularly. Nobody can tell me what terminology in my listings flags my items so I can prevent it, so I'm in here appealing fairly often.
when I submit an appeal, I choose the option that states there was an error and provide my evidence. Usually it's summed up as "look at my listing please, it's clearly not the item your system says it is". I then get one of two replies:
A - a reply stating that my item is very definitely not what I am selling, and is very definitely required to be compliant.
B - a reply telling me that I contacted the wrong team and should redirect my issue to seller support.
The only way to get this resolved takes several weeks/months and many frustrating back and forth communications. If you're curious, I can provide case numbers.
Interesting that after 18 hours there has been little response when the forum has had several posts on compliance issues.
The Manage Your Compliance Dashboard isn't hard to use; however, the response time while under review is an issue. In addition ... when an issue is reviewed, the results can vary depending on who reviews the issue.
We had 11 items with compliance reviews. Six of them we got through with some waiting. Two of them got stuck waiting on a review. Three of them got stuck in a loop of rejection even though they were identical in nature to the six that got approved. Had it not been for @Cooper_Amazon's help, we don't know if we would have been able to get five of the items through the system.
From our experience, we would tend to lean towards providing the compliance team with better training at first level since the outcome varies with the person who is doing the review.
Our documentation of compliance issues would be our original thread.
We can not thank @Cooper_Amazon enough for the assistance provided.
My products continue to be flagged for being a children's toy when it is not. I will list in the appropriate category, and then it is changed to the wrong one and deleted saying I need to upload compliance documents. When I appeal, it automatically comes back as rejected. I have tried to open cases and call. They keep telling me they are looking into it. The call was dropped and never followed back up. This has been ongoing for almost a month now.
The whole entire account health and manage compliance dashboard is useless... you can follow all the compliance for your product, but then one day an amazon bot will remove your listing without any warning.... no warning in your manage your compliance, nothing you can do as a seller to prevent it. I've already provided all the documents that they requested. What would be more logical is if a bot detects something with your listing, it can show up in the manage your compliance area, then give us a chance to provide whatever amazon is requesting. Your guys review process is so slow that It can take up to a month for us sellers to get our listing back up. I'm dealing with some frustrating cases right now and haven't been able to get a moderator to help.
My experience has been a nightmare since day 1. Flagged by bots and no one to talk with directly. The Amazon system previously failed to retain the documents uploaded. Since Circa 2023, my listing was only falsely flagged a few times and I was told not to worry. Now, it appears that Amazon implemented another compliance field requirement which was simply photos of the product (only additional requirements for my product) that were merely duplicate photos I had previously provided in the CSC & Testing documents. First, It is impossible to see what exactly is missing or required when this issue popped up. I didn't even realize there was an issue that needed to be resolved, except there was an issue with my Amazon phone app. Now, my listing has been made inactive and has been in review for 2 weeks. Nothing has changed on my end. I am now out the $$ advertising momentum and additional costs I will incur with Amazon storage due to them stranding my inventory.
Overall, the page works, even if some of the underlying bot automation and seller support processes are less than ideal.
A chief complaint is that Fair Market Pricing really shouldn't be a "violation" in the compliance section. If it was something truly egregious, showing obvious price gouging for a very limited supply item during a time of heightened need... fine. But when it is dozens and dozens of products where we're priced at less than a keystone markup (100% MU), the broad market is at a similar price, but someone else is willing to undercut the market, calling that a compliance violation is silly. You want to suppress the Featured Offer? Fine. Put this in the pricing area then.
One other thing that is sorely missing is a report that shows all of the geographic restrictions in place for our catalog. The fact that we only get notified about these ONCE via email and that there is no report to see all of them, no easy way to track progress in fixing them (since they are so often wrong) beyond individual case management is absurd. SKU, ASIN, State restricted, reason for the restriction, and date the restriction was applied. Bonus points if you can tell us that only the Brand owner can fix it so we don't waste time working with Seller Support to be told we aren't authorized to make the change.
We got currently 96 items than need to be shifted to eBay as we gave up wasting time with this issue years ago and and now in the mind set if you Amazon want to wrongfully take items down with only bot support making Swiss cheese of brands then go for it we are happy to sell these items on a different platform so you can manipulate along with buy box removals and other forms of suppression in this unfair marketplace driving sales to Amazon sold items so be it. The only way sellers compete with a platform who this stuff if leave listings dead like we do because item Amazon wants compliance on are all for us mostly items Amazon once sold but no longer can compete so they get hit with compliance where no matter what you due always gets rejected. We have many series where 6 items to the set and usually the best 2 sellers get flagged for compliance with most cases someone creates new listing with ups that do not match or everything gets shifted to eBay and customers do find. Ebay 0 per 1000 vs Amazon 50 per 1000 items sold return rate all same items also tell you another thing.
The Manage Your Compliance Dashboard has several problems if you have a lot ofitems that require compliance documents and appear in the dashboard.
1) If we would like to submit one after the other we can't do so. Once a product is submitted, you have to use the back button and it takes you back to the first page always. It is hard to find where you are up to in your work this way.
2) Even more bothersome is that the items jump for page to page. For instance, an item can be on page 8 and then when you go back to page 8 a few minutes later the product is not there. We have to do a search for it and can find it on page 10.
There has to be a way to keep better track of the products than having them appear wherever and jumping around.
3) There should be a space for us to make notes and comments for ourselves by each product on the list page. This way we can notate what we still need for the compliance, if there was a problem etc.
4) And this doesn't have to do with the page, but the products must be reviewed in a timely manner. I had products with submitted documents and images waiting for MONTHS for review. Unfortunately I missed my entire holiday season with these many products at a great financial loss.
5) There has to be support on this page and compliance requirements as there is no one to talk to. Seller support doesn't handle compliance. So who does?
The Manage your Dashboard page is a good idea but it needs a lot of fine tuning.
I am posting this here because I don't know where else to go. Seller support says they don't handle this.
The Manage Your Compliance Dashboard is having problems uploading images. After uploading them we get the message "File nameoffile.JPG was not added, please try again." Even after trying several times at different times of the day and different days it is not working. We can't even submit the documentation as it does not let us upload if the images are missing.
Please fix ASAP.
Thank you for giving sellers the opportunity to provide feedback!
I followed the link provided and my initial response is:
The first few sentences tell people to go somewhere else.
- Navigation and sidebar modules should do that, not longform text in center of main / landing page)
After skimming the tabs , I feel dumber.
- No clear explanation or instructions telling me what all of this is, how it effects me and what I need to do.
I think the Amazon Seller teams need more resources. It should be as easy to sell a product as it is to buy one.
Is there any software available to manage listings on all of the larger sites in one interface that actually does make it frustration free?
