Hello,
We do not live in Germany and we took VAT number to sell products outside from Germany on Amazon Germany(out of country). However, we could not manage to find proper products to sell. Therefore, we would like to close our business. I believe that it is compulsory for us to de-register VAT number. We have not sold anything yet via Amazon Germany. Should we de-register VAT number? Should we use tax provider such as Singularity or can we de-register by ourselves? How can we de-register VAT by ourselves from out of country?
Thanks
Hey @Seller_Vih2vreyZBM6w,
in regards to your VAT questions, I would suggest you to get in contact with a tax advisor. They can help you and answer your questions, which we here on the forums cannot.
However, if you want to close your German Selling Account, I would suggest you to do this before you de-register your DE VAT ID. Otherwise it could happen that your account gets deactivated due to invalid or missing VAT ID and a deactivated account cannot be closed.
Hope this helps you.
Best,
Janina
unfortunatly you don´t mention where you live. More informations would help us to help you.
In your case I would contact the responsible tax office. That depends on your location. You find a list if you google (I must not insert an external link here): "Finanzämter für im Ausland ansässige Unternehmen" . The best result is the IHK-page (chamber of commerce)
