Report a Violation (RaV) is a self-service tool to search the Amazon catalog for potential violations of your active trademarks, copyrights, and patents. Should you find a suspected infringement, you can submit a report. Each report strengthens our machine learning and automated protections. Accurate use of Report a Violation also helps you become eligible for Project Zero.

Note: We cannot provide legal advice or otherwise interpret regulatory requirements on situations that are specific to individual sellers.
We had contacted a supplier of ours to share that we had located several Chinese knock offs. They had to pay $4,000 to amazon to review their IP claims. Why was this necessary? Why is a 3P required to pay Amazon to review an IP claim to take action against the infringing party? And if there IS infringement, Amazon says check back after xx days to see if they have been removed. What?? Amazon cannot do a simple follow up email that says what they have done to remedy the issue? And what about the $4000??? Why so much money for this request to review the IP vs the copycat? This NOT a he said - she said when you have the USPTO doc's to prove your case. Looking forward to the reply
Question: - on the report a violation page, when we post a parent, it gives a message mentioning the number of children. This is a clickable link. We expect that clicking this link will show the details of all the children. but of late this renders an empty page. Is this the expected behavior? If not, where do we post this as a bug with the details?
Many sophisticated scam sellers use techniques that are not caught, even after they have been reported. Is there an alternate mechanism where we can report these things in detail?
example, self-review hijacking-
1. create a high rated ASIN by getting paid reviews or by giving cash by 5 star product insert
for a very short selling like like a month. Then stop getting paid reviews so that they are not caught.
2. Now change the inventory of this high-rated ASIN 0
3. Add this high-rated asin to a new variation family and sell a poor-quality product. But the display page will show aggregate ratings so the rating will be high initially
4. now the rating will slowly start going down
5. After the rating goes down below 4.3 remove the poor rated asin and add a fresh asin to the family and continue scamming Amazon customers.
The reporting team does not have any rules by which this kind of scam can be caught and rejects all reports that report this review manipulation.there are many kind of compound scams that are beyond the reach of the report team. How do we address these
Hello,
I reported a trademark violation through Brand Registry Complaint ID 17390059711 and it has been stuck in Under Review status since Mar 10, 2025, 11:22 AM. I filed one for a similar variation ASIN with the same exact infringing seller and it was removed within 2 days. This one is stuck and the seller is STILL on the listing. I escalated the report via support case# 17464532071 and they responded "Thank you for submitting your notice of infringement. The content that you reported as infringing your intellectual property has already been removed from Amazon.com." but it hasn't. So I replied that was incorrect with screenshots from Brand Registry and the "Other Sellers" on the listing, and they replied back again "Thank you for submitting your notice of infringement. The content that you reported as infringing your intellectual property has already been removed from Amazon.com."
I just tried again and got a 3rd reply of "Thank you for submitting your notice of infringement. The content that you reported as infringing your intellectual property has already been removed from Amazon.com."
The other seller has not been removed and the longer they are there the longer they are damaging our product reputation. Please help ASAP!!
We did a test buy and they sent a different brand with a different box and different markings. I attached images of what they sent and what they should be in the report as well.
EDIT: I opened a new case yesterday and within 12 hours the offer was removed via that new complaint. The original complaint still stands "In Review" but at least the offending offer is now removed. What caused that complaint to get stuck and how do I avoid it in the future?
Thanks
Also, If you withdraw a claim does it lower your acceptance rate and thus keep you from qualifying for Project Zero? I am at 100% acceptance right now but still do not qualify. Is there a minimum amount of complaints required?
1) Is this tool going to start being monitored better? It used to be more effective years ago, but for the last couple of years I hardly even bother using it because most of the time I get an instant reply saying there is no violation that can be found. The reply is so fast that it was clearly automated and no one actually looked at the case.
2) This tool currently only works for ASINs that are still active in the catalog. Can the tool please be expanded so that it can be used for ASINs that have been removed from the catalog? I frequently encounter issues with listings where a bad seller has done something to a listing that causes it to be removed from the catalog. Seller Support tells me to use the report abuse tool in order to get the listing fixed... but you cannot use the Report Abuse tool for items that have been removed - it can't find the ASIN.
3) We need to be able to upload photos to the Report Abuse tool. Can you please fix it so that photos can be uploaded?
@Jameson_Amazon
Please I need you or someone else to help with my situation. Have been waiting for a response from Amazon for several days now. I have spoken to several seller support staff and have submitted all the required documents. Please help me.
We have reported our listing hijackers twice already using the RaV tool but have not been successful in getting the hijackers removed, despite our brand being brand registered. I'm curious what protection brand registry actually provides in this situation
Hi Jameson. For the past one week, My account has had an error message telling me to update my credit card information. When I click the button, it gives an error message. My card is valid and Amazon needs to try again and this error message doesn’t make any sense and I cannot access anything else. Please help as this is very urgent.
Amazon sucks. use Shopify eBay Bonanza and many other web sites.
I stopped selling and buying at amazon since 2019. Delete all the messages and listings and close the account.
I use them only for reference.
I had a lot of bad experience with Amazon.
Amazon is NOT the only kid in town.
