Ignore them would be the best. NEVER engage in dialog with an activist buyer. They will make you mad and lead you into making comments that will get you the boot from amazon.
If you know for fact it was delivered you are clear in the eyes of the law. Who knows with amazon, since they seem like an activist buyer they will more than likely pressure support to force a refund.
No matter what you do with this case, you will get the dirty end of the deal, sorry.
Police report only reports a statement of single sided information.
was it Seller fulfilled prime? I think you need signature required for amazon if the buyer were to open a claim, you will lose without signature. I wouldn’t worry about a police report …
This is not grounds for police action. Amazon allows them to file an INR complaint. Let them use the process.
Why do you call it threats? Are you afraid of police? Do you do something illegal?
I always encourage customers to file police reports. Non on Amazon though as they are not my customers and it’s Amazon problem to deal with it.
But on our site police reports are always welcome.
Mail theft is a serious crime and if they have reason to believe that their mail was stolen it is their citizen duty to file a report.
Although I recall only few cases in the last 10 years where report was actually filed.
Because this is a Prime order without signature confirmation, you will lose an A-Z case if one is filed by the customer.
It’s the responsibility of a customer to provide a safe place to receive shipments. Obviously anything left on a porch is going to attract thieves.
If they open a case they will lose as the tracking says delivered. Buyer knows this and is just trying to intimidate you.
So what if they file a police report - in fact, I would encourage them to do so and say that there are obviously porch pirates in the area so this may help track them down!
If an item goes missing in transit, it’s on the seller to find out what happened. Once it’s proved delivered, the onus moves to the buyer.
Whilst I am new to Amazon, I have been selling online for 16 years and I’ve not really heard of a seller being held responsible once an item shows as delivered. Unless Amazon expects sellers to replace what thieves steal? It’s also possible that the buyer is simply dishonest.
At the end of the day, tracking is for the sellers benefit, not the buyers.
They should have filed a police report as soon as the package went missing. Most buyers don’t bother as it’s so easy to get refunded.
