Crazy influx of customers wanting refunds for DELIVERED orders

This issue is related to USPS/FEDEX/UPS tracking errors, where USPS does not SCAN the item on some, and others the packages are actually delivered... And the customer sends a message stating, INR... Yet i have a PHOTO OF THE ITEM AT YOUR FRONT DOOR.. their excuse is always "well tracking did not show it was delivered" ... IT WAS/IS ON YOUR PORCH... is this just a new scam going on? are customers exploiting this tracking issue.. as when i order from amazon, i NOTICE THE PACKAGE and i don;t reach out to the seller and try to get a refund just because the tracking info shows NOT delivered but the PACAKGE is in my HAND.

When i ask, well where did it go? they say, well i just didnt see it.. well HOW.. it was put between the screen door and front door.. what PORCH pirate is going to steal an envelope from your porch? this is just incredible.. more examples of amazon customers using your time and money for their shopping addiction of TRY BEFORE YOU BUY, 30 DAY RENTAL.

every single morning we are getting messages like this, and it has never happened like this before .. it is making NO sense... and this has dropped our VTR to 88% .. yet we have a 100% OTDR.. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE????

Most INR messages I get I send the tracking with the delivered confirmation and tell them to open a claim with Amazon and I never hear from them again and no claim is ever made. They usually drop it once they see the delivered tracking. I also get the customers that say they ordered by mistake and initiate a return but never return the item. They are just hoping I will refund right away and they get to keep the item for free. I don't have this problem on My website, Ebay or Etsy. It's an Amazon only problem, because they just allow the buyers to rob the sellers.

Well, the Amazon has this system - if the tracking is not clearly updating to "delivered" they WILL send a customer "Your order maybe lost" email. And sometimes they send this email completely for no reason at all - tracking shows delivered correctly. No tracking site outages etc.

It's absolutely disgusting to a point some people have been reaching out to us to confirm they HAVE received it and they are confused why they received this email.

Some shameless people seeing this email will chance it and say they didn't get it hoping for a quick refund.

The fact that they are sending you a message instead of just reporting it via Amazon screams "let's see if they refund it without checking" to me. I have the exact opposite problem, I can never get customers to respond to ANYTHING - even if I'm trying to verify their own order or shipping address.

to be fair-do you think this customer expected an envelope to be dropped in the corner of their driveway?

100% agree with you. We are losing a few thousand a month just on refund's for customer's claiming that they have not received their packages. USPS is by far the worst that we run into but are forced to use them as they are the most cost effective.

We've been using Amazon for years and this past month has been crazy with this issue. Only for one specific item we sell too. And then they file an A to Z guarantee and it either gets accepted or declined. It's very odd, thought it was just us. Amazon needs to address this.
