Amazon seller Sales Report in California

Hello. I live in CA and started amazon business a few month ago. I wonder if I have to report sales tax in California every 3 months? my legal entity is registered as C-Corp. I researched some articles regarding sales tax on amazon and noticed that Amazon collects them on their behalf so I really wonder if I still have to report sales tax or I don't have to?

Thanks for your reply

Do not base your tax actions on man-on-the-street advice. Go to the source.

Since you are operating a business in California, you need to have a resale permit. Find out your reporting obligations from the state tax board (CDTFA -- California Department of Tax and Fee Administration)

For me (in California) -- I report the California internet sales included in my total. A few screens later I back out that amount as prepaid, using Marketplace Facilitator as the reason (it is on the drop down menu)

Hello @Seller_mOlC01wXZnL0s,

Thank you for your post. What @Seller_Hi7wbO2Kbo6bl has posted is great information. You are responsible for identifying your Tax obligations in addition to the calculation, remittance, and reporting of all taxes within your obligation, regardless of your participation in Amazon’s Tax Calculation Service. I have included some help pages below that provide additional detail on tax policies for your reference:

Please let me know if you have any general questions.

Cheers,

Micah
