When selling on Amazon, once approved to sell a particular brand product via application, do you have to reapply again after a few years? Just asking for clarification because some of our inventory was marked inactive unexpectedly and we need to reapply to sell a brand that we have been selling and was already approved by Amazon. We asked various support team members and internal investigation with no clear indication as to why this happened. Thanks in advance for any advice.
Yes that's possible. Why this happened? Amazon daily takes new decisions without to explain us why. We can just accept it.
Hi @Seller_GzUqubPe9fHlx,
I understand how frustrating it is when previously approved products suddenly need reapproval. Looking at the help documentation Categories and products that require approval, this situation is actually quite common.
Under the section "I was already selling this product, but now I can't. Why?", Amazon explains: "As our catalog grows, we continuously make new determinations for which products should be restricted based on a number of factors. Even if you were selling your product before, you may be subject to new restrictions."
This typically happens for one of two reasons:
I see you've already worked with support and had internal investigations without getting clear answers. What you could try next is checking your Performance Notifications and Account Health pages one more time for any specific issues that might explain the restriction.
If you don't find anything there, you can submit a new application through the Selling Applications dashboard. The help page mentions you can specifically search for brand applications there.
Just keep in mind that the help documentation notes "in some instances, we may not accept applications for review," but since you were previously approved, it's definitely worth trying to reapply.
Hope this helps explain what's happening!
Best regards, Michael
