Read onlyIn this article, we’ll review the process to list a product for pre-order.
First, determine if the product qualifies for pre-order by reviewing the following criteria:
* The product can be shipped in 30 days.
* The product is not Fulfilled by Amazon.
* The product is not BMVD (Books, Media, Video and DVD), since these products need to be shipped within two business days of the order confirmation date.
If the product meets these requirements, then you’re ready to create the pre-order listing. Here are two options to create the listing with step-by-step instructions:
Option 1 – List a pre-ordered product using Add a Product:
* Select Inventory, and then click Add a Product.
* Click I'm adding a product not sold on Amazon.
* Select the product category and type.
* Select Advanced View.
* In the Offers tab, click the Calendar Icon next to the Release Date field to select a date that is no more than 30 days in the future.
* When all of the remaining listing information has been captured, click Save and Finish.
Option 2 – Set up pre-order products using an inventory file upload:
* Download the category-specific inventory file template.
* In the merchant_release_date column, enter the date when the product will be available. You will also need to enter Update in the update_delete column.
* In Seller Central, select Inventory, and then click Add Products via Upload.
* On the Add Products via Upload page, upload your inventory file.
