Closing Mexico Account Accidently Closed USA Account

Closing Mexico Account Accidently Closed USA Account

I am trying to see if anyone here has some guidance for another seller I know who accidently closed their Unified North American account instead of just closing Mexico. While on the page to close that market, it only showed Mexico. She recently Just open that account

She never intended to close the USA market. She is a new seller and just sent in her first inventory, which was being received.

She no longer has access to open a Help ticket, either. Her account does show Europe,UAE and other countries as pending, but when she clicks on help, it gives her no options to log in.

Does anyone have any suggestions to recovery this?

I wish your friend luck. Sadly, I have no good advice.

I warn people any time that they mention "closing" any part of the Unified account to just put it on Vacation mode, as even ASKING Amazon if it's possible to close one of these marketplaces is enough for them to shut down your entire account, even if you are a $1M+/year business. For one seller, this has now been about 3 months; although no updates recently since it's gone to lawyer mode.

Best of luck to the friend. And to anyone else who has missed the warning:

DO NOT TRY TO CLOSE ANY MARKETPLACE. JUST PUT IT ON VACATION MODE AND DELETE ALL LISTINGS!!!

Thank you for your post. In the Close your seller account help page, there is a section that describes what happens when you close your North America Unified Account:

If you have a North America Unified Account and you close your seller account, all of your other eligible accounts will be shut down at the same time. For example, if you close your United States account, your Canada and Mexico accounts will also be closed. The simplest way to tell if you have a North America Unified Account is to check whether the store switcher is available in the header of your seller account. To learn more, see North America Unified Account FAQ (this page is only available to sellers with US account).

If the seller no longer has access to their selling account, they should call 888-282-2406.

Unfortunately per privacy reasons, we cannot work on the seller's account through you, but feel free to keep us posted on the outcome of their case.
