Inactive secondary users to be removed from Seller Central accounts

To better protect your Seller Central account and keep your data secure, each quarter we’ll remove secondary users on your account who are inactive for more than 12 months.

This change offers you the following:

  • Increased security: The removal of inactive users reduces potential access risks by bad actors and improves account safety.
  • Simplified access management: Helps you manage permissions more efficiently and helps prevent any unauthorized access.

If needed, you can go to Set and edit user permissions to add removed users if they still need access to your account.

Thank you, and it's about time!

I've complained about issues with removing User Permissions since back when Global Permissions were added, and have asked for the ability for one to remove themselves from other accounts for quite some time. At least this way maybe those inactive ones will finally be removed.

An update on exactly WHEN this will start and on WHAT dates this will occur would be nice.

It sounded great but I'm not seeing it happen!

Multiple accounts I should have been removed from, but I'm not. I can't even get help because I have no way to contact the account holder.

This is a great step, but what would really make us happy would be:

  1. Sending the user a warning email. One that gives them an option to log-in to reset the 12 mos timer or a link to confirm "remove me"
  2. Users are set to INACTIVE and someone with the right access could simply restore them to ACTIVE status (or delete them entirely). We have some users who only log-in under emergency situations (e.g. a senior IT guy, the head of our Tax department during an audit, etc.) and that may not happen within a 12 mos window. Having to restore their account, especially remembering which user permissions they had, would be inconvenient.
  3. User permission templates. We'd love to see 5-10 "templates" of user permissions so we could assign them as roles to new hires. E.g.: channel manager, customer service rep, accountant, marketing analyst, etc.
