When I want to ship a pallet from Dallas via LTL, I am shown a FBA warehouse in Pennsylvania, 1400 miles away. How can that make sense? The $300 fee is both excessive and the shipping route will take more than a full day.
How is there no way to ship to a warehouse located in the same city?
Your product gets shipped to the warehouse where your products are in the most demand.
Not all Amazon warehouse's are the same. From this location they will have the ability to split the pallet and divide your items to multiple warehouse's throughout the country. I've had mine split to over 30 differnt warehouse's. And $300 for a pallet is really not that bad.
From some of the reports I've seen, many of the FCs, especially those in the West and Central areas, are full and/or so backed up that they can't handle your products. This is the time of year when the FCs are at their fullest, and Amazon is going to route your shipment to where it can be handled.
And while this may seem inconvenient (and yes, it is), it beats having your shipment go to a nearby FC that is so backed up that your shipment would not be checked in until Dec 26.
Just saying thanks to all 3 of you above for weighing in with your perspective and guidance to OP!
