Read onlyA few weeks ago I shipped out an order post Hurricane Helene and prior to Hurricane Milton - neither of which were supposed to cause issues in my area (they apparently did).
When dropping it off I noticed my local PO had zero issues and power (October 3rd). About 4 days ago I received a message from a customer asking where their order is, to my surprise it was not scanned into the system, I made my way to the post office and immeditaley spoke with my post master, apparently their systems were down for nearly a week but accepted packages and were OPEN regardless of that fact!
I had to call my local plant to get a missing mail search opened and it was found shortly after at a regional facility, the explanation was that Hurricane Helen caused major backups in their systems and Hurricane Milton caused statewide outages which led to further delays.
I explained this to the customer and the package was found and finally scanned in (showing delays were caused by weather in their system). The customer then opens an A to Z claim and gets refunded automatically and ceases communication with me.
I need a moderators help in getting this claim removed from my ODR and my account credited for this sale, the customer has gamed us for a $600 order (no option to intercept the package). My appeal was automatically denied despite being in a ZIP code that Amazon recognized as being an affected area and providing proof that the package was delayed due to a natural disaster in the USPS system.
