For anyone getting started and need help with wanting to know what type of label writer and type of labels you need...here is your answer.
You must buy a printer that prints Direct Thermal NOT Thermal Transfer
- I had used Thermal Transfer labels for years but then got a performance notification for having a shipment unscannable barcodes not to long ago
I had to do a lot of research and couldn't find the direct answers on this forum except for the help of someone answering my question on a discussion.
Sooo...you must have a Direct Thermal printer for your label's.
If you do apx 2000 labels a month or print a high quantity of UPC labels, I recommend you get a printer that has a 3"core with a minimum of 2000 plus labels. I have a ZEBRA Zt410 and a DYMO 4XL. I bought a roll with 300 labels that went super fast. If you use a labelwriter with a small core, it won't help your flow to be productive because you will have to change the roll often. I keep my DYMO 4XL label writer to print out the 4x6 direct thermal shipping labels and keep the Zebra Zt410 for my FBA AMAZON UPC barcode labels.
ALSO....I pack my 24x18x12 boxes with recycled paper sacks from ingredients we get. They have been accepted for years as a filler for the boxes and they had been approved along with long strips of 3x4 paper from the abels we use. Also I use the brown bags that Amazon sends me their returns as a filler for my FBA shipments
Hope this helps someone.
Just make sure that anything you use as stuffing/dunnage doesn't have any scanable barcodes on it.
