Pro vs Individual: Choosing the Right Amazon Selling Plan for Your Business

Hello Amazon Sellers!

I hope you have a great week ahead!

I'd like to start a discussion about choosing between Amazon's Individual and Professional selling plans. This decision can significantly impact your business, so let's share some knowledge!

Quick overview:

Individual Plan:

• $0.99 per item sold + other fees

• Best for selling < 40 items/month

• Limited access to tools and reports

Professional Plan:

• $39.99/month flat fee + other fees

• Unlimited items

• Access to advanced selling tools and reports

We'd love to hear your experiences:

  • What factors influenced your choice between Individual and Pro?
  • For those who've upgraded, what Pro features have been most beneficial?
  • Any unexpected advantages or challenges with either plan?
  • Share your insights to help fellow sellers make informed decisions!

For more information you can go to Selling plan comparison.

Feel free to comment below answering the questions above.

Kind regards,

-Josh

Simply just the math. There is a savings on fees after the 40th sale when you are on the Professional plan when compared to the Individual plan.

I chose the professional plan when I started in 2008. I was selling 500 items a month. With Covid that was easily cut in more than half. I was up to the high 300's and the my competitor now has a HUGE banner at the top of the page, and i have to scroll down 5 pages on my phone to find my first item. I now sell about 150 pcs a month. I have decided to close shop by February. After I pay my distributor and with all the fees, I'm only having a few hundred dollars a pay period. It's not worth it.

For that $40/month we should get protected listings and instant help against page-changer hijackers.

Also, we should get the same Pitney Bowes tracking for plain USPS envelopes. The other 2 large marketplace doing it. They even add up to $20 coverage on those envelopes. Why can't Amazon do that?

We pay here, but we don't get those things what the other 2 large marketplace giving us without charging us extra.

How about getting back the TEXTING option. Messaging buyers work only 50% of the time. They don't read it, they don't care, their email address refuse the messages, etc. Texting was very important, now we don't have it.

Would be a huge step forward getting these for the money.

I'm on Pro-Account, because I'm a tiny seller, but with an LLC 1 person business, so It's a full time job. Hoping to keep running my business, but I almost even lost my account about 6 weeks ago, because of the twisted Amazon rules. I don't want to be that "back in my day" guy, but selling on Amazon 10-12 years ago was completely different. Now it's extremely stressful. :-( Would be nice going back a little bit.
