I have a terrible "no longer needed" situation. Customer sent it back, but sent it via UPS (got to love those prepaid automated shipping labels). The problem--> it's my PO Box. UPS wouldn't deliver and sent it back to the customer. Is there any way to get my money back for this item? The package didn't arrive back to me. Why is it even possible to create a UPS label addressed to a PO Box if it will never be delivered? Somebody please help me or illuminate my path on this one. Thank you!
How come the return shipping went UPS. Did you set your return shipping for UPS or USPS? Did the buyer pay for it to go UPS? Make sure your return shipping is correct in your settings.
I don't know if you can get the buyer to return the item again, because the refund already happened. But if it was a correction in your return settings, then once you fix it, it should be ok going forward.
Hello @Seller_pyquAsYfJfhjp
I reviewed your selling account and the return shipping address. Unfortunately, you have included your P.O. Box in that address. Go to your account and edit the shipping settings.
If you edit out your P.O. Box you should not have issues with it in the future.
Thanks, Susan
MOST of the Returns I get are UPS, even though they all originally shipped via USPS.
I can only assume that Amazon is "Getting a Deal" from UPS.
I do not believe a Seller can affect the Return Carrier Amazon chooses.
So, the ONLY way I can think to help you is you need to CHANGE your address from a PO Box to a physical address.
This is, of course opens a WHOLE CAN 'O WORMS, as a Seller's Account is completely tied to their address, and all documentation MUST correlate exactly to that address.
Be VERY Careful when you do this, as you do NOT want your account to be Suspended due to the Identity Verification documents NO LONGER MATCH from when the account was created.
There must be a way, as Amazon cannot expect a Seller to NEVER MOVE or change their address.
But you MUST remove the PO Box from your Delivery address to prevent this from reoccurring.
If your Buyer is being reasonable, and will answer your (Amazon) messages, you COULD mail them a Pre-Paid Shipping Label so that they could ship it back to you. IF you think they will do so.
Otherwise, you will NOT be paid for the transaction by Amazon, and you will NOT get your item back.
Take this as an expensive lesson and vow to prevent it from reoccurring by changing your address.
Good Luck!
Horrendous return myself today, customer requested a book return on August 15th & was refunded today because of a 1st scan......85 days after asking to return it. obviously she used it for 85 days & now returns it, it was like new condition, SIGH! Amazon simply does not care about customers committing fraud.
UPS not delivering to PO Boxes has been an issue forever. There are many UPS stores and similar types of businesses that provide a PO Box service with a physical address. That is probably the best route going forward. If you are selling out of your home, that is what I would suggest you do. If you have a commercial location for your business, just use the commercial address.
You should be able to write your PO box address as a physical address.
Example:
Packages from UPS will get to your PO box that way.
