Read onlyWe’re trying to update the brand name of some of our products on Amazon from the parent company’s name to the actual sub-brand they belong to.
For example, think of how Nestlé is the parent company of Kit Kat. While Kit Kat is owned by Nestlé, the brand name on the product is Kit Kat, not Nestlé. Similarly, we want our products to be listed under the correct sub-brand, rather than the parent company’s name.
However, when we reached out to Seller Support and the Executive Team, they told us that brand names cannot be changed and the only option is to delete the ASINs and relist them under the new brand name. This would result in losing all our sales history, rankings, and reviews, which isn’t ideal.
Has anyone successfully changed a brand name in a similar situation? Any advice or alternative solutions would be greatly appreciated!

Hello @Seller_Lk9jzwUDp72tx,
Dougal here and I would be happy to look through the specifics of your question/concern if you provide the case ID here.
Generally speaking, Brand Name changes on ASINs are not supported unless they meet specific criteria which is listed on the "Changes to an ASIN's brand name," section of the Amazon Brand Name Policy.
Additionally, the Product detail page rules help page has a section on this topic in the "Policies for editing detail pages," section and the 5th bullet point down, starting with "If you choose to re-brand a product..."
Hope this provides a bit more clarification, but please let me know if you have any other questions or want me to look at your case specifically.
Best, Dougal
It only clarifies that Amazon refuses to use common sense.....so many UPC's stuck in bad listings and the actual, correct product can no longer be listed. And Amazon refuses to fix even the MOST OBVIOUS issues
Yet people that hire hackers have NO ISSUE stealing brand names every day and no matter how often they are reported, Amazon turns a blind eye to blatant IP violations
