Hello Everyone,
We are a registered owner of a brand and currently sell products on amazon as the brand owner/manufacturer. We recently had a known distributor request written permission via Amazon's permission form, to sell our products on amazon and in addition want to link their listings back to their store which contains products that have nothing to do with our brand. Is this even possible? Why would we want our brand via their listings to be linked back to their store? Looking for Pros & Cons of giving a reseller/distributor written permission to sell our products as our brand? Would it be better to allow them to create their own separate listings using an EIN and monitor accordingly to protect our brand reputation if we send them a contract agreement and provide them content? Any insight or help from brand's that currently allow resellers written permission would be helpful. Thanks!

I apologize, I do not understand exactly what the distributor wants to do.
As a general rule, A brand gains nothing from allowing someone else to sell their products. You only add another tier that has to be fed and satisfied theretofore either driving up the cost or diluting your profits.
There are expectations of course.
Do the distributor add value?
Do they give you large orders and pay promptly. If you struggle with cash flow, this may be a life saver. If you are the seller, you have to wait until the items sells, and for your bi-weekly distribution, and for about half of it to clear the reserve period. Usually another two weeks.
Do they bring expertise that you do not have?
Do they have proved marketing schemes that will increase the products exposure.
For ourselves, we are becoming tired with Amazon. It is getting ever more complicated. We are also a brand. Actually we own two brands. We do not sell our new products ourselves. For our situation, we believe our time is better spent researching and developing new products. At least for the time being.
We are a multi-brand owner. We are a family operation - so not a mega company. We do NOT feel that sharing is caring. We design, source, warehouse, pick/pack/ship all in house. These are all things we get to keep control over

What is your end game/goal. When you can answer that for yourself you will have your answer
We prefer to be control freaks and ensure our own successes and enrich the family and future generations. What's your idea of success and the future of your brand?
Hello @Seller_ifYY7Lpk80Tb9,
Michelle from the Community Manager team here. I have read your concerns regarding giving approval to other sellers to sell your items on Amazon. This provides the seller with proof that they buy their items from you and that you authorize them to list your items on our site. They would need this if there are concerns of counterfeit complaints on the site if you were to report that they are selling counterfeit items etc. Please note that even if you don't provide them with a Letter of Authorization, if they are able to prove that they are buying directly from you or an authorized distributor, Amazon will let the items to be sold on the site as we are an open marketplace and do not restrict listings just based on request from the manufacturer.
Regarding listing your items on their site, I am not sure how that would go, that would be up to you to determine if you want them to list there.
I hope this information is helpful and wish you the best in your sales.
Regards,
Michelle
