Was picking up a flat rate envelopes at the PO tonight & they now have a really large (6x8 inch) Glassine window in them.
Why in the world would the PO want everyone to see what is in those big envelopes?
And wouldn’t this add a lot to the cost of manufacturing those envelopes, not to mention it probably makes them weaker, and they are already pretty weak.

I usually also use that particular regular paper standard priority – for mailing multiple copies of the right size magazine , maybe with some foam core… on other platforms… or even first class international… there is a weight limitation I don’t remember what it is…
They’re also really great ways for folding that particular envelope or even a legal one & cramming jeans - clothing, dresses, workout pants, men’s shirts-- even lightweight suit jackets , if you fold them right…
Everybody has a few extra stickers laying around to cover that window…

Spend under $1 more and you can use the padded FRE, They are meant to be dimensional
I work at the USPS. We have had the envelopes you are speaking of for quite some time. We still have the regular flat rate envelope also. The glassine window envelope works well for someone that has filled out a manila envelope and they decide to go Priority Mail as it slides right in.
