Manage dangerous goods classification

Hello. I am a new seller and I need help.

I made a purchase of Reed Diffuser and it is already in Amazon warehouses. My products are blocked by Manage dangerous goods classification.

Before making the purchase, I checked other ASIN numbers of similar products and they were not classified as hazardous materials and I made my purchase and shipment.

Amazon is asking me to provide a Safety Data Sheet (SDS). The supplier sent me an SDS, but with the name of aromatherapy and it does not match the name of my publication (Reed diffuser).

1. What should I do to solve this problem?

2. How can I avoid these problems in the future? (similar products from the competition are not classified as dangerous and mine is).

Thank you in advance

"Before making the purchase, I checked other ASIN numbers of similar products and they were not classified as hazardous materials and I made my purchase and shipment."

NEVER assume anything on Amazon. There is very little consistency. Buy the product and THEN create an ASIN using FBM to determine if there is enough of a market to even attempt to sell something by doing FBA.

By doing FBM you can try different pricing strategies to see how much price elasticity the items have.

You can see how much (or how LITTLE) demand there is.

Also, WHY would you want to go up against all that competition? A basic search shows OVER 2000 items for sale here.

"1-48 of over 2,000 results for "reed diffusers""

If orders are distributed equally across the board (they NEVER are) yours has a chance of 1/2000 to get sales. That is .0005 in math terms -- in other words NOT great.

Hi @Seller_bZBB331De7JzF, to be compliant, your Safety Data Sheet must match your product listing -- the product name shown on the SDS needs to be the same as the listing title (the product name, as it appears on the detail page) and the manufacturer or brand name of your product on the SDS should be the same as what appears on the detail page. This will need to be resolved before moving forward.

Additionally, an SDS must:

  • Be created or updated within the past five years
  • Include new GHS/CLP hazard identification information
  • Include all 16 standard SDS sections

For more information, watch the Seller University video on Submitting Safety Data Sheets.
