Is anyone else having issues with buy shipping? The same thing happened this time last year. The particular product I am having issues with is a low cost item. It sells for $20, and after amazon fees and typical shipping, I profit about $4, so there isn't a lot of wiggle room.
My preferred ship method is USPS, and usually I ship ground advantage, less than one pound, for a cost of $4.31-$4.44. All of a sudden on 11/4/23, something changed and the majority of my sales (9 out of 12 from 11/4-11/6) are now saying ground advantage is not eligible. The cheapest option I'm given for shipping is priority mail at $7.60, thereby taking all of the small profit I stand to make.
Just like last year when this happened, I contact seller support, spend an hour on the phone and get the same response. Our system is working properly, most likely ground advantage is not offered, because the estimated delivery date is after the promised delivery date. I have 100% tracking and delivery rate. My items always show up 3-5 days before promised delivery. I am currently taking the items down to the post office buying ground advantage, and the items are all showing up ahead of the promised delivery date. This is a pain though because buying ground advantage at the post office is still more expensive than what it costs on Amazon, and I also have to add another step of confirming shipment and entering the tracking number. Does anyone have any recommendations to solve this issue with Amazon shipping. Seller support is no help whatsoever.
Hello @Seller_46TLce8om7wop: We are seeing a lot of threads this week about Buy Shipping, with the common theme being normally available shipping options not appearing for purchase.
Our partner teams are reviewing the Promise and Buy Shipping processes, and investigating orders reported by sellers for issues potentially blocking valid options from appearing.
One factor affecting Buy Shipping availability is recently extended shipment transit times for the peak season. Longer transit times make it more likely for some services to not meet the delivery promise.
In addition, USPS is operating at reduced capacity this Friday for the Veterans Day holiday; this has led to some limited delivery options, and our teams are investigating these adjustments for holiday capacity and working improve availability for the rest of the week.
