New certifications added to Climate Pledge Friendly

Our Climate Pledge Friendly program helps customers discover more-sustainable products at scale, and rewards sellers who develop innovative products.

We partner with the world’s most credible and recognized sustainability certifications to highlight products that have a focus on preserving the natural world.

We’ve listened to your feedback, and added three new certifications that recognize materials innovation:

  • International Sustainability & Carbon Certification Plus (ISCC Plus)
  • Recycled Content Standard for Electrical and Electronic Equipment
  • Plant-Based Fiber Blended

If your product has earned any of these certifications, it’s eligible for the Climate Pledge Friendly badge.

This badge appears in search results and on product detail pages, allowing customers to more easily discover and shop sustainable products.

For more information, including how to request the badge, go to Enroll products in our Climate Pledge Friendly program, or Intro to Climate Pledge Friendly

This new effort to control and manipulate business people reminds me of Y2K, Al Gores scare campaign, about Global Warming and now this fiasco, with Climate Change, which happens annually btw.

the least climate friendly business on the planet is Amazon. Things you could do to reduce emissions you don’t do. Instead of trying to get everyone to overnight packages all over the the country to qualify for seller fulfilled Prime, you could enable regional prime to shorten the distance a product has to travel, all while getting the product there in the same amount of time or faster. Instead you’d rather tell us how many days a week we need to ship, make us overnight things, putting the packages on airplanes, and massively increasing the carbon footprint of shopping on Amazon.

These are simple, free ways Amazon could make a HUGE difference if they really cared about this issue.

Finally badges like these make my skin crawl. They are bull sh.. and everyone knows it. It’s like dei statements and other pledges of conformity to a political ideology. No thank you. I prefer free speech. These things start out voluntary, and end up being coerced. Just ask anyone who works at a university these days.

Amazon's entire business model has resulted in insane environmental damage. No amount of recycled cardboard is going to negate this fact. If Amazon wanted to help the environment, they would focus less on "2 day and 1 day" shipping. The whole "I need it now mentality" has increased carbon emissions by more than individual user choices will negate.

Want to help the environment? Schedule deliveries only for 3 days a week instead of 6. Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Amazon has single-handedly pushed carriers like UPS, Fedex and EVEN USPS to work up to 7 days a week. I remember not long ago they all worked just 5 days a week. Some of this is supply and demand but a lot of it is a direct result of Amazon.

Amazon, you have the power and money to make changes we never can.
