Updated (10/20/23): We've received feedback from a number of sellers about this update. We take your feedback seriously, and are pausing these changes temporarily as a result. We will provide more information soon.
We're updating the Add Products and Add Products via Upload tools in Seller Central to ensure that listings contain relevant product attributes.
Providing attribute information can help increase sales by making it easier for customers to find product information that improves their purchase decisions.
Over the coming weeks, you may notice the following changes when you create or edit a product listing:
New listings, and existing listings that you edit, won't be added to the catalog until you provide all required attributes in the 'Add Products' or 'Add Products via Upload' tools.
Existing listings won't be impacted by required attribute changes until you choose to edit them.
For more information, including a regularly updated list of required attributes, go to Updated attributes within the Add Products and Add Products via Upload interface.
For help with any listing issues, contact us.

Could dates be included please, in the coming weeks, why so vague?
We have already got a taste of this and it is definitely for the worst for sellers and customers. Your so-called "AI" forces us to choose irrelevant attributes ...for example a handle material when the product does not have a handle. There are many more examples we have run into over the last few weeks. Seller support is unable to help in any of these cases. So now there are listings forced to have inaccurate information in them and the customers will be making decisions based on this inaccurate information. Sellers should have complete control over listing since we know the products better than Amazon or at least the ability to mark the offending attributes as not applicable.
Are there any details on which categories will be affected?
We just had unnecessary template change a few months ago, why change it again? Adding additional values that are required will not apply to some listings. It will be harder to add variations and that does not include the glitches and suppression that will come with it.
More importantly why do this as we move into Q4, the highest level shopping season of the year?
I just got the bloody email. As a book seller, can I just reiterate that this is the stupidest policy. Used books DON'T have valid list prices. The cover prices on a 10-200 year old books have NO place in your moronic AI calculations. Way to get even more unfriendly and do even more damage to booksellers and the book market. If any booksellers WANTED to be a walmart or thrift store, they would. Most of us choose bookselling instead.
I take the surveys, I give low scores and use my words on a regular basis. We already know amazon doesn't listen to us, no matter what they claim. Why hasn't amazon at least taken notice of the FTC's lawsuit? The price fixing bot is one of the worst things ever to happen to the book market.
I'm a long time seller here, no newbie. I have watched the gawdawful changes damage the book market year after year. This can only make matters harder and worse for booksellers. Death by 1000 more cuts to come.

Magnets have to list fabric type
Drinking Straws have to list if they contain liquid
Glitter needs a height
Everything, including an envelope, has to list if it is a dangerous good with mandatory cautionary statements
Hello,
In "all attributes" option there're less tab. Some attributes are under different tabs. For example; search terms is now under "product details" tab. Is it related to this update or have my list a different problem?
We are running into major issues with this and thus far Seller Support has been no help. The "External Product ID" field is now required for adding or editing an existing product. The problem is we sell autographed sports memorabilia, autographed jerseys, photos etc which do not have GTIN or UPS codes. Clicking the "I don't have a product id" checkbox does nothing. Seller Support tells us we have to apply for a GTIN exception? Anyone else running into problems like this?
