We receive an Email which said We have taken this measure because we have concerns about the authenticity of the items listed at the end of this email. In order to ensure that customers can shop with confidence on Amazon, we request additional information from sellers to confirm the authenticity of certain products. The sale of counterfeit products on Amazon is strictly prohibited. ASIN: B09Y9316QS Title: By Dr. Seuss A Classic Case Box Set
We never sold any of this product. How can Amazon deactive our account by this reason?
"We never sold any of this product. How can Amazon deactive our account by this reason?"
The first question is did you LIST the item?
It doesn't matter if you sold it. By creating an ASIN it shows an INTENT to sell the item and that is what Amazon is hanging their hat (and suspensions) on more and more these days.
Just look through the Forum for all the suspensions by book sellers that have been on here for years.
Publishers are gating their brands in droves, not to mention all the places banning Dr. Seuss entirely because some of the titles are 'inappropriate' in certain political circles.
There is no ban on selling Dr. Seuss books.
And the decision to cease publication of certain titles was made by the publisher. There was never any "ban" on those or other Dr. Seuss titles.
This is true; but the complaints on various news outlets when the Suess books stopped being published almost 100% ignored the fact that it was the publisher deciding that they were inappropriate; not any sort of legal or court action.
And ironically, the same people protesting those books no longer being published are often the same people pushing for book bans.
But I sold some of these books on Amazon after the 'ban" went into effect. I'll admit, I've not followed it lately, because the last I looked, the value of those books had dropped back to the "not worth worrying about" category.
Hello @Seller_KsijQeFiCFl1m,
Thank you for posting here on the Forums.
I see that your account has been deactivated for authenticity concerns and you have questions about how this can happen if you never sold this item.
The first question is did you LIST the item?
It doesn't matter if you sold it. By creating an ASIN it shows an INTENT to sell the item
@Seller_kIukTwdhvntAp makes a great point here. If you had created the listing at any time, this does show intention to sell the item and you may be asked to provide proof that the item is authentic.
You will be required to submit invoices from your supplier for the ASIN in question. The invoice must be dated in the last 365 days and before the date your account was suspended. The invoice must meet our document requirements as well.
Do you have invoices for the ASIN listed in the email? If so, have you submitted the invoices for review as of yet? If you have, what was the outcome? You can share any follow-up notifications you have received, here in this thread, so we can take a look. When sharing notifications, please ensure that you remove your personal information first.
I look forward to your reply. The Forums community and I are here to support you.
Wishing you the best,
LeviDylan
